About this ebook

When you read chapter 18 in the book of Revelation, you can easily become curious as to what country this place called Babylon the Great could be referring to. Theologians of the past said it was the literal Babylon located in Iraq; however, upon a more current review of the clues woven within the verses, we find that the evidence points to America.

In this amazing comparison of up-to-date facts between a city in Iraq and the United States, ample proof has been uncovered and presented that was not previously seen. The author, a theologian himself, has hammered out another interesting read.

    Introduction

As I came upon my fortieth year of studying the Holy Bible, I found myself being spiritually drawn to focus on the book of Revelation chapter 18.

The revelation is literally the climax of all times, the end of evil, the fulfilling of many prophecies, and the last showdown.

The book of Revelation is much like a fireworks display. During the display, there are different fireworks set off one at a time, then comes the grand finale, where they set off everything they have in rapid succession, so it is with the book of Revelation. It is God's spectacular grand finale and the devils' last stand. Good and evil have continued for a very long time; however, the end has come. It is time to wrap things up. Evil will be abolished.

Since evidence of the end of times is being increasingly seen in my lifetime, I desired to look more closely at the Revelation to pinpoint, if possible, any of these signs. I was more interested in chapter 18 than any other. I wish to share with you my findings.

After reading what several Bible scholars and commentators (none of them are alive today) have to say concerning this chapter, I was not convinced that it was without question the literal Babylon located in the country of Iraq. There are, in my estimate, many things that just do not make sense if that were the case.

This book is to provide insight pertaining to the wording, metaphors, and clues given.

Some clues and references may overlap into more than one category.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

    Chapter 1

    Revelation 18

This is the exact chapter taken from the book of Revelation in the Holy Bible. We left the verse numbers intact to provide easy reference throughout the book.

    Revelation 18

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall
