Flight Plan: Uncollected Anthology: Mystical Maps
()
About this ebook
Detective Gus Collier and his ghostly partner Sarah Allen are called into service by their fellow seventh-seventh Mrs. Ethel Douglass. But are they needed to solve a supernatural murder?
No, indeed.
It seems that one of Santa's elves requires their sleuthing skills. The magical map that allows Santa to find his way to children everywhere during his midnight ride on Christmas Eve is missing! Gus and Sarah must find the one-of-a-kind artifact before Santa and his reindeer can take flight.
A vividly realized urban fantasy, "Flight Plan" pulls the Gus & Ghost team solidly into the Christmas season.

About Debbie Mumford

My cell phone buzzed. I glanced at the readout and sighed. Ethel Douglass. I was taking a well-deserved day off and the last thing I wanted was for Mrs. D, a seemingly sweet little old lady from Seattle, to tell me we were in for another supernatural invasion. I’d had enough ghouls and demons to last a lifetime.
My name is Gus Collier, and in addition to being a homicide detective for the city of Portland, Oregon, I’m also a seventh-seventh. The proverbial seventh son of a seventh son.
Not that gender has anything to do with it.
Seventh-seventh is a birth order anomaly. The seventh child of a seventh child is hard-wired to come into some form of psychic power. Usually on their twenty-eighth birthday. See, it’s all about the sevens, and since twenty-eight is seven quadrupled, that’s when it happens. Personally, I think putting it off until the seventh-seventh turns forty-nine (seven squared) would make even more sense, but no one asked my opinion.
I’m just living this weirdness.
Anyway, Mrs. Douglass is another seventh-seventh, but her abilities are different than mine. She uses higher mathematics to delve into the mysteries of alternate realities. As far as I’ve figured out, seventh-sevenths come in one of three types: guardians like me and my friend Luke; healers like my ghostly partner Sarah and our friend Alex; and those who are attuned to alternate realities, especially the Otherworld, like Ethel Douglass. All of us are psychic, so we can all see and hear Sarah, which makes life a whole lot easier when we’re on a mission.
A mission. Just what I didn’t need.
But
