Chapter 1

Before I even opened my eyes, I knew I was alone. More than that, I knew Trey was not only missing from bed, he wasn’t even in the house. Unfortunately, waking up with Trey gone had been the norm of late. Being the predator that he was, it was easy for him to sneak out without waking me.

I hated it and he knew it, but he was trying to be considerate. Letting me sleep when he had to be up and out. And a part of me appreciated that. But I would rather get up with him, wake up with him, then not. Over the past two years, our pack had grown and Trey was Alpha over them all. Between caring for the pack, running the restaurants, and the upcoming holidays, he was stretched thin. Duncan did what he could, as a good Beta would, and so did I.
