    Dear Parents and Grandparents

What if you could teach your children one thing that would dramatically change their lives and give them hope for the future? I believe that one thing would be prayer. This book of true stories of answered prayers, taken from our family’s prayer journal, will inspire you and your child to pray and trust God to answer in His often-astonishing ways.

From stories in Scripture, we get the idea that Elijah was remarkable. Yet we are told, Elijah was a man just like us (James 5:17, EHV). What made him remarkable? The answer is that he prayed. Prayer gives us hope, because it teaches us to rely on God.

When my husband and I found out we were expecting our first baby, I was very concerned that we wouldn’t be able to meet the needs of a child since our income was well below the poverty line.

Yet, throughout my devotions, I kept reading verses such as these:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs… (Philippians 4:6, TLB)

…do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear… your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to
