I LEARNING ABOUT FAITH
II THE RIGHTEOUS LIVE BY FAITH
III FAITH-FULL VS FAITH-LESS
SUGGESTED OPENING EXERCISES
1. Usual Signal for Beginning
2. Prayer (Closing with the Lord’s Prayer)
3. Singing (Songs to be selected)
4. Scripture Reading: Galatians 3:11–15
Director: But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
School: And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Director: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
School: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
All: Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
Recitation in Concert: Romans 1:14–17
14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
CLOSING WORK
1. Singing
2. Sentences: Hebrews 10: 35–39
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

KEY VERSE: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1, KJV
Intro
The concept of faith can be very challenging to comprehend, in part because it deals with abstracts. For some believers, faith is merely the act of confessing and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord, and that upon acceptance our soul is guaranteed to inherit eternal life after death. Faith is more than that. It is a natural extension of spiritual practice.
When contextualized as a noun, faith
is usually associated with someone’s religious tradition and affiliation, as implied by the question What is your faith?
, which is to say, What religion do you claim?
As a verb, faith
refers to the active trust one has in God’s ability and willingness to address a particular need — the way faith is usually understood and practiced by most Christians. From this perspective, the quality of one’s faith is measured by the confidence they have in receiving a favorable outcome from God. Unfortunately, restricting faith to such a narrowed definition eventually fosters the assumption that God is little more than
