Serenity

The angels' work was never done. We saw everything, even though you might not think we did. We knew where you were going for dinner and when you were going to sleep. We saw everything you did in your lifetime. We're the angels, some more sinister and evil than others. Those were the ones to watch out for; those were the ones who wanted to learn every deep, dark secret you had and use it against you. We're the ones who determine whether or not you go to heaven or hell. We determined your fate for all of eternity. We met with death regularly. We never really went into heaven unless we were called in (which didn't happen often). There's a place called purgatory—not a very pleasant place, I might add. You would get stuck there until you determined your fate, which here in this place could take several days or weeks just to get everything in order and find your place.

We were the angels who stood guard at the gates with Peter. We're the good guys—well, we were until the angels and the demons got released from their homes.
