The Desire of the Guardians - Wayne Ellis
Foreword
Hello and thanks for choosing to read The Desire of the Guardians
!
This is one of those stories that I didn’t even plan to write. I started off writing down flashbacks from earlier stories to help me develop future ideas, but it just evolved into a new story. I think it nicely concludes my original four books in The Transformation Chronicles
while introducing the main theme of The Age of the Wizards
.
Not only did I want to write a prequel to the story, Ralgaban
, to give more background about that story, but to write another one that was just as effective.
I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I wish to thank Gloria Webb for all her editing work to get this book to the stores.

Second Age
Book 4: Will of the Three
In the Year 2118
Calana received the seven Golden Stars from Arden and was sent on a mission into the Dark Spheres. The mission was to a planet called Vorne, where a group of militant Shades were planning to wipe out the population with a warhead, loaded with a deadly virus.
Calana intercepted these tyrants and managed to vanquish the majority of them, but a Sorcerer appeared through a portal. She battled the Sorcerer before he turned into a giant dark Phoenix. The Phoenix grabbed the warhead and flew into the air.
Calana managed to hang onto the warhead as the Phoenix took it high in the atmosphere before dropping it. With her new powers she was able to fly down, grab the warhead and re-direct it back toward him in line with the sun. This inadvertently sent the Sorcerer into the sun via a portal.
Two sisters, Penni and Sari, who are both Guardians of Udicia, were reminiscing about old times, when they were suddenly summoned on a Guardian mission. In the Sphere of Wisdom and the city of Delcia, Penni and Sari met with Ulef who empowered their Talismans with each of his objects.
In the Sphere of Knowledge and the country of Velonia, Penni and Sari met with Sef who explained in his artwork how the final battle was played out between the Guardians and Shades.
In the Sphere of Fulfillment and the country of Olrone, Penni and Sari met with Viler who demonstrated that Guardians should never feel completely safe, no matter where they are.
In the Sphere of Fearlessness and the country of Eeonia, Penni and Sari met Larn, their father, who explained how his and their history was linked not only to the previous Sorcerer, but also to the Spectre Queen.
In the Sphere of Unity and the great city of Neth, Penni and Sari met with Remm who explained how much society at the local and national levels really needed the Keepers and Guardians to bring it into balance within the wider galaxy.
In the Sphere of Tolerance and the country of Tyrone, Penni and Sari met with Benn and Meln. Meln talked a little about the Udician war and explained the current situation in the local galaxy, especially regarding the rise of the Spectres. He mentioned that Arden was about to make an entrance to Tyrone.
Penni, Sari, Benn and Meln took a chariot ride out to the Thal mountains in Tyrone to meet with Arden, who made a grand entrance through a portal. He explained the situation with the Guardians and the Spectres and how the balance in the local galaxy was at a tipping point. Peni and Sari stepped into a portal conjured by Arden and were taken further across the galaxy.
Meanwhile, in the same part of the galaxy, Captain Raywond Hiler and his crew detected a large armada of Imperialists (Shades) heading into their territories, called Ranger Space. He was urgently contacted by a very nervous Admiral who had detected another more advanced armada heading their way.
The more advanced armada arrived first, and they turned out to be the Guardians. They made it in time to take the main brunt of the Shade onslaught, but Hiler’s ship was caught up in the barrage, and only some crew members managed to eject away from the ship’s destruction.
Some time into the battle a portal was reopened, and a Shade mothership came through. There was desperate fire from the Guardians who gave it all they had. They finally destroyed the mothership but not before an arrow-shaped craft ejected from it and headed for the surface of Rune. A Sorcerer emerged from the craft after it crashed.
Aboard one of the Guardian ships, the Tenth Guardian summoned Calana for an important mission on Rune. Penni and Sari met up with Calana in battle. They fought a platoon of soldiers, who they realised later were the local Rangers from the Pern world. Calana was not happy that someone as young as Sari was part of their trio.
The three women ran through the forest, while the Keepers back home empowered them and guided their clockwise approach toward the Temple
