About this ebook

Take to the skies with America’s favorite beagle in the comic strip that’s “relevant and funny for readers of all ages generation after generation”(Good Comics for Kids, a School Library Journal blog).

Snoopy is one small dog with one huge imagination! From day to day, he can be found stalking the other Peanuts characters as a fierce ready-to-prey vulture, leopard, mountain lion, piranha, or creature from the sea. But his grandest flights of fancy are when he’s airborne as the Flying Ace on his Sopwith Camel seeking out the evil Red Baron. His forays take him through the World War I French countryside in repeated attempts to achieve his quest.

In Snoopy: Contact!, enjoy his adventures along with his other unusual encounters: catching bird burglars stealing his Van Gogh, challenging Lucy to an arm-wrestling contest, and becoming the Cheshire beagle.

    Curse you Red Baron!

I love this book. If you've ever wondered what it's like for a World War 1 flying Ace/Beagle to face the dreaded Red Baron this is the book for you. And yes, if you defeat the Baron it's all you can drink Root Beer at the Officers Club. Though he does not defeat the Baron Snoopy does show us how the life of a Beagle can be very exciting but also drab. That's alright because there's not many things that a kiss on the nose can't fix. The sad part is the loss of so many Sopwith Camels. Beagle maybe brave but they aren't very good at not being shot down by the Red Baron or anyone else for that matter. Thats besides the point. The point is this book is fun. And if someone you know has a Beagle that wants to be a World War 1 fighter Ace well than you tell that person to let that Beagle fly. He won't fly far and he'll probably be shot down by the Red Baron but that will only bring them closer to their Beagle as they both shout. CURSE YOU RED BARON!

I read this book via NetGalley. I thank them for this book.

This is a wonderful collection of comics from the Peanuts Gang, with all of them featuring Snoopy. This book brings back memories of the comics I have read in the paper for years as well as the television specials that were on over the years.

I love Snoopy! He has so many different personas and they are all showcased in this book. Snoopy and the Sopwith Camel are frequently featured in the book. Of course we also have him as the Vulture, the hungry dog dependent upon Charlie Brown, the antagonist with Lucy and Linus, his desire to go to school, his relationship with his bird friends and more.

This is not a quick read as it is a long "comic book" but every page is enjoyable and the illustrations are pure Charles Schultz.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
