Introduction
A great civilization thwarted by the lack of support of an erstwhile ally, the Mitanni Empire, is the epitome of the platitude a friend in need is a friend indeed.
Unfortunately, when in need, the Mitanni Empire would find that it had no true friends leading to its demise at the hands of the Hittites. Its annihilation would be so bad that modern-day archeologists still find it difficult to find traces of its existence regardless of modern-day technology. But one shouldn’t judge a civilization by its demise. It was a force to be reckoned with in its time.
