Delfi: An Epic Poem
()
About this ebook
Once upon a time, fairies and trolls roamed the earth, and mankind was a friend to all. The world was at peace.
Then great battles ensued for the right to rule the earth. Blackgaard, whose strength was unequaled and whose greed was without bounds, vanquished all who stood before him.
In such a world in turmoil could two beings, as different as the sun and the moon, find love and defeat the evil about to envelop them?
This is the story of Delfi.

About the Author
To Natalie Levey who, as a second mother, proved that anything is possible.
Preface
In a world full of peace, where once fairies roamed and man was deemed a friend, great battles ensued for the right to rule the earth. The strength of only one, Blackgaard, whose greed was without bounds, seemed enough to vanquish all who stood before him.
In this land where peace succumbed to turmoil, even unrequited love can grow as boundless as the greed which would enslave it.
Such is the story of Delfi and of a love that could not be…yet could it?
When hearts of darkness roamed the streets and Blackgaard ruled the land,
When midgens, cudgeons, trolls, and like all feared to show their hand,
When all save Blackgaard's evil hordes were sentenced to the mines
To live and toil there, endless days, to build Blackgaard a shrine.
There was a land, a place of dreams, beyond the rocky crest
Where Blackgaard's armies could not reach and put the land to test.
Though Blackgaard tried, and tried again, he could not breach the gate.
For it was cast in magic gold; eternal was its fate.
The last place that the earth embraced to be free from his grasp,
Delfi was a place of hope; a fortress built to last.
No one knows who built the wall or whence from did they come,
But Delfi legend says their race lived far beyond our sun.
They came to earth when it was young and life began unsure.
They watched it cleave; divide in two—one aggressive, one demure.
The demure race was called the Krell; their minds grew large, their bodies small.
Intellect, their strongest suit; gentle creatures, one and all.
Aggressive life grew monstrous in sinew and in size.
Their brains did not evolve at all and fear was their disguise.
They called these beings dinosaurs and left them to their fate.
But to protect the Krell from them, the race did build the Magic Gate.
Hidden from the outside world, cradled in the valley's arms,
The Krell watched as the ages changed;
Free from sin and free from harm.
