Driven by a love of science, James Polson earned a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from the University of Missouri.  After two years of postdoctoral training at the University of Minnesota he taught and conducted research in the area of biochemical pharmacology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine for more than 33 years.  In the course of his search for truth about the existence of God, he earned an M.A. degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Searching for Truth

INTRODUCTION

In this book, I recount my journey in search of truth about God, heaven, and hell; and I am writing it with the earnest desire that it will help you understand how you can know where you will spend eternity before you ever face your own death. Perhaps you are skeptical about whether it is possible to know anything at all about life beyond the grave, and you are not interested in the wild claims of fanatics or encounters with religious zealots. I understand. I also was a skeptic who thought that God, heaven, and hell likely did not exist outside of one’s imagination.

I was satisfied with that view of things until I was involved in a car accident that made me realize that death can happen at any time. And what if I was wrong about heaven and hell? What if they really do exist? Where would I be? The more I dwelled on it, the more I was driven by the thought that even if there was only a small fraction of a chance that I could spend eternity in hell, the stakes were high enough that I would be foolish not to check it out before it was too late to do anything about it. So I ventured forth to see if I could discover any truth about the existence of God, heaven, and hell.
