Beyond The Pulpit
My name is Lisa. I am the mother of five kids. I have raised them all on my own for most of their lives. For most of my adult life, I have been in ministry. I love cooking, which I'm good at, and I feel it brings families together. I'm also a mentor, author, and preacher. All my children have the same father. We were married but later went through a divorce. I became a spirit-led single mother. I kept praying for him, and God restored our family before he died. I was ordained in Oakland, California, just three months after my former husband took his own life. I was pregnant with our fifth child at the time. That same year, I also lost my little brother, two aunts, an uncle, and a first cousin. Then, my daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
I've been a Christian since I was 21. However, I started full-time ministry at the age of 30. Before I got saved, I was a suicidal, hopeless young woman. I heard voices telling me to kill myself. Off and on, I was dealing with an addiction to drugs since I was a teenager. Jesus saved me from killing myself. When I was 21, I was reborn again as a Christian. My entire life changed in a day. Jesus gave me hope for the future. I knew that because he saved my life, he would save me from everything I may go through.
He is a tangible God. He is watching over our lives consistently. Psalms 121:5-8 5 The Lord watches over you — the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Having Jesus means I always have someone to help and guide me. He fights for me. He fights for you! He is my
