About this ebook

A toxic situationship develops after an obsessed fan has a chance meeting with the object of her affection, on vacation.

Cassandra - I started to believe that I was unworthy of ever being loved by someone like him, or at the very least, even looked at. But everything changed when my skirt got caught in his sun lounger. I couldn't believe my eyes. What on earth was Lance Scott doing on my island? Well, I don't own the island. I wish! I just live here. Still, what?!

Lance - When I took one of my monthly trips, the last thing I was expecting was to run into the bane of my existence, Cassandra, my social media stalker. I thought she was nothing but a troll, and by that I mean, the types that live under the bridge. That's what her pictures on social media made her look like. She could use a lot of help with lighting and angles, because in real life, she takes my breath away. I'm in trouble.

Triggered In The Tropics - Vanessa Millwood

    Chapter One

Cassandra hadn’t left the house to go anywhere nice for several years now. Except for a couple of hours to run errands, she hadn’t done anything fun or adventurous. Nothing new and exciting had happened in her life that made her come alive, or feel like herself for years. However, there had always been a travel itch inside her that she had yet to explore.

Seeing Lance live his life so freely through his social media posts inspired her. Lance Scott. Social media star. Content creator. And man who she’s been crushing on far too hard from a distance for the past year.

This was no more than a parasocial relationship. Very one sided communication-wise, which was why her obsession with him was so damn embarrassing and painful. That and the fact that she was thirty-one and he was twenty-three. How pathetic. She just wanted to get him the fuck off her mind for her own sanity, even though she was the one that put him on her mind in the first place. Ugh.

When she first decided to book this trip, it was because she wanted to show him that she was as fun as he was, and they could have a good time if he would give her a chance. If he would respond to at least one of the hundreds of messages she sent him, she could show him the interesting parts of her island. They could fall in love. Ridiculous.

But since he made it clear he was not interested by not responding, she wanted this trip desperately in order to forget about him. To have a good time and not think about him for once in her fucking day.

She had been planning on traveling now for about six years, but six years later she still wasn’t any closer to saving enough money to renew her visa, purchase a plane ticket, look after accommodation and other necessities, while she was all by herself in a new country. But that didn’t mean that she couldn’t feed her need to travel, anywhere.

As he showcased his life on social media, going to different beautiful spots in his country of Ecuador, she realized that there were places on her little island of Jamaica that were just as picture-worthy as the ones he posted. And she hadn’t been to many of the spots on her own island, so why shouldn’t she explore them?

What’s more, she was starting to believe that the only reason for her attraction, attachment…obsession?…with him in the first place was that she’d been staring at her computer for so long, he was the best candidate that she was being exposed to.

What would happen if she exposed herself to other candidates? Maybe that’s what she needed to do. She needed to remind herself of all the other fish in the sea and perhaps she’d realize that there was someone else who was better for her out there.

Welcome to the Lagoon Resort, I’m Molly, how can I help you? The dark skinned beauty in the hotel’s button down shirt with the logo on the pocket smiled at her.

"Hi Molly, I’m Cassandra Hewitt and I have a reservation
