CHAPTER ONE

Dr. Roy Washington was dripping with sweat as he ran along the track at the park by his house. His skin, the color of roasted coffee beans, glistened in the sunlight. Colorful leaves rustled from a gentle breeze. The weather was balmy and pleasant, a perfect fall day.

Roy lived in a high-rise building near the hospital where he worked. There was a huge park nearby, so he came out every morning to enjoy the fresh air and work up a sweat, even on the chilly winter days. Nothing could stop Roy from working out his body.

Hey, are you okay? Roy asked.

The man looked at Roy with fire in his eyes, but they softened almost immediately. Roy felt like there was even a mutual attraction, but he wouldn’t get ahead of himself.

I’m a doctor. Would you like me to look at it?

The man’s eyes softened even further. Yeah, sure. It hurts like hell.

For you to scream like that, I’m not surprised. Hopefully it’s nothing major.

I fucking hope not, the man said in a harsh whisper.

Roy opened the gate and entered the basketball court. The young man watched him as he approached. He had sweet brown eyes, wavy brown hair, chiseled arms, a strapping chest, and a face that made Roy’s heart ache. What he wouldn’t give to stare at that face while he stretched the man’s sweet hole.

I’m Roy, by the way.

Justin, he grunted. What kind of doctor are you?

Emergency room, said Roy. I see all kinds of injuries.

Shit, I can only imagine.
