Connor Whiteley

Hello, I'm Connor Whiteley, I am an 18-year-old who loves to write creatively, and I wrote my Brownsea trilogy when I was 14 years old after I went to Brownsea Island on a scout camp. At the camp, I started to think about how all the broken tiles and pottery got there and somehow a trilogy got created. Moreover, I love writing fantasy and sci-fi novels because you’re only limited by your imagination. In addition, I'm was an Explorer Scout and I love camping, sailing and other outdoor activities as well as cooking.Furthermore, I do quite a bit of charity work as well. For example: in early 2018 I was a part of a youth panel which was involved in creating a report with research to try and get government funding for organised youth groups and through this panel. I was invited to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party and how some of us got in the royal photograph. Finally, I am going to university and I hope to get my doctorate in clinical psychology in a few years.

The Mystery In The Student House - Connor Whiteley

THE MYSTERY IN THE STUDENT HOUSE

    10th January 2024

    Canterbury, England

My love for you is only matched by my contempt for you now auntie,

Private Eye Bettie English playfully hit her favourite nephew in the entire world Sean, as they went into the awfully small white porch of the house they were secretly investigating. Bettie had to admit there was clearly a reason why these houses in this part of Canterbury were so cheap.

    They were disgusting.

Bettie really didn’t like the massive single panel of glass that covered three walls of the tiny porch, allowing out all the heat and allowing in the icy coldness of outside inside. It was so pointless. Even the red tile flooring was ugly, but Bettie supposed she couldn’t complain.

It wasn’t like she was actually here to help her nephew check out a house. He had already graduated with his Masters, but the house owners didn’t need to know that.

Please take off your shoes, a woman said from inside the house.

Bettie rolled her eyes as the loud hammering of the rain pounded the thin tin roof above them, so much so Bettie could barely hear herself think. Let alone the woman.

All she wanted was a moment to warm up her hands, that were still aching and freezing from standing outside for ten minutes in the pouring rain waiting for the woman to show up. Bettie hated when people were late.

Bettie did as she was told and realised maybe it wasn’t the best idea to wear boots today that went halfway up her shins. She knelt down on the icy cold floor and started untying her shoes.

Why this woman didn’t have blue crime-scene shoe covers was beyond her. That would have made it so much easier for her to do this.

Bettie smiled at Sean as he just slipped off his shoes and leant against the doorframe just waiting for her. He ran a hand through his longish blond hair with tasteful pink highlights and he smiled at her.

She knew he was just as excited about the idea of
