DEDICATION 1: FELICIA RUPERTI
From 1994-1997, I was a student at Hammersmith & West London College in London, England. It is currently known in 2024 as West London College (legally known as Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College). From 1994-1995 I studied for a BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts and from 1995-1997 I studied for a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts. Beyond my studies, I would look for various other opportunities to act, including taking part in the drama club.
It was at this drama club that I met Felicia Ruperti, or as I knew her- Felicity. Felicity and I had a really strong chemistry together during our time at the drama club. Whether it was me having a crush on her, her having a crush on me, or both: we would look for any opportunity to play improvisation roles opposite each other in which we would be physically affectionate with each other. We would connect in numerous other ways, and it was nice to have someone that so openly cared about me. She was such a positive and hopeful person.
Our paths took us in different directions after Hammersmith & West London College. I don’t remember the exact year, but it was around 10 years later that we reunited. It became evident that life had been tough for Felicity in the intervening years. Even though she had had some remarkable achievements, she appeared to have become somewhat disappointed and less hopeful about either what was going on in her life or what was going on in the world around her. Our reunion meeting was the last time that I saw her.
It was in 2020 that I learned Felicity had committed suicide. I discovered it a few years after it happened and wasn’t around Felicity at the time. This is somewhat similar to Adam
in Three Times Moving: Time Forgotten
who was not around his ex-girlfriend Jenna
when she died. And like Adam
, I no doubt had what if thoughts of if anything could have changed if I was there.
Felicity chose to leave a goodbye note, and this was shared online in 2017. I am choosing to share it again on the next page. Dear reader, proceed with caution, but also be aware that it is a letter of love and hope.
"Dear friends,
When you read this, I will no longer be amongst the living. I'm really sorry to shock or sadden you with this information. I sincerely wished for a genie in a bottle who could have magicked me out of this world without anyone even noticing or
