The most difficult part of ruling a huge country like Daneer is having to live all your life with the Queendom’s interests on your mind. That means you, as a ruler, don’t really get to decide if you are ready to have an heir.
If the country needs you, you need to be there. And if all your advisors tell you that it is imperative that you have an heiress, you don’t get to talk about how you want to spend the last days of your life as a young woman without an heir.
There is no question about whether you are ready to become a mother.
You have to think about the consequences of not having an heiress if you were to die suddenly.
Thus, as a 25-year-old woman who recently wed her sixth husband, I have to start having babies. No waiting until I am 30 because one heir is no guarantee. It’s very possible that I could have a succession of sons, who, let’s be honest, would not be capable to rule the country.
Then everything could fall apart.
