About this ebook
Poetry Within, the first book written by Ms Nomfundo Nkhosi. A work that took years since it was first written as a journal. It's a book that touches on situations that trigger our emotions daily. Things that leave others feeling as victims. The book teaches finding oneself and self-love. Fear, pain, love, loss but mostly courage to move forward. It's about appreciating life and things around us. But mostly faith. It's meant to help others know they're not alone, it's a healing journey.

Poetry Within - Nomfundo Nomieg Nkhosi
AFRICA
Golden sun rising from the east
A dawn so breath taking
Heralding another day
People beautiful as the earth itself
Different shades of brown so golden
Bustling about as ants collecting food
Different languages, different attires
All hailing the beauty of mother Africa
Ivory smiles on ebony skins
A melanin skin so good you want to touch
This is Africa a continent so beautiful
You can never have enough of it
A continent so full of happiness and sorrow
Where music and dance is a way of life
In birth and death we sing and dance
For music is our soul soother
Lagoons mighty rivers and oceans making beautiful sounds
As the wind rustles through the trees
Making the trees dance to the music of the waters
Dusts swirls here and there
A wonder for some but an everyday life for others
Conflicts and wars caused by the colonizers
Separation of tribes once living in harmony
Bloodshed all for gold and diamonds
A continent leached by so many
Left in hunger and despair
Yet you see that shiny ivory smile wherever you go
Letting you know you’re in Africa
ALL ALONE
Though with you, I am alone
You lie beside me
You say you love only me
But I never feel your presence
Pity I feel so in love with you
I tell myself I’ll get over you
I’ll move on, just as I’ve always done
But with you it hurts
Yet with you, I am alone
Am I lacking something?
Is my love not good enough?
You always say I am beautiful
But your touch betrays you
Makes me feel ugly
You say I am the one
Your actions say I don’t exist
Maybe
