Dedication
It is not that animals do not have feelings, but we humans are made of felt. This is the only difference between humans and animals. Animals do not know when they become violent. But whether we humans are violent or not depends on our discretion. Animals do not worship any deities. They do not know, nor believe in the existence of God like humans. The entire human race living on this earth directly or indirectly accepts and believes in the existence of God.

is dedicated to all those people who commit mistakes in the heat of emotions and are forced to spend their whole life behind bars. This book is dedicated to all those prisoners who have completed their sentences but are still languishing in jail. This book is dedicated to those people who were not guilty but could not prove their innocence and are still languishing in jail. The subject matter of the book is based on the truth but with the words of imagination, I have successfully tried to make the book interesting.
To be very honest I have wept silently with tears three to four times in to my eyes while composing this book.

uilt in the 1980s, this school was still standing strong. With the advent of the 20th century, a lot of change was taking place inside India. The dilapidated condition of the school was not the same as before.
This village school, 15 kilometers away from the city, was an example in itself. Many students had created records by passing them out from here.
It was afternoon. There are sounds of children screaming and crying. Usually, when there is half-time in government schools, this scene is seeable in itself. Fatuous kids, who don't do their homework in class, sit and chatter during half-time. Most of the children who study also play. It is at this time that the head teacher/principal of the school shows that he cares for the school. Otherwise, he does not attend any classes for the whole day. Before half-time, the children who become sick with the restrictions of the school, are peeking for an escape at this time. This is the best time for girls when they can converse about their hearts with each other. Because this is the time when boys are out of class.
But today, except for a girl, there was no other child in room number 6. 11-year-old Salma was sobbing while sitting in the class. It seemed from her face that she keeps on weeping in class. A girl kept trying to take her out again and again but finally leaving her, she too went out.
Some children were recreating on the dusty ground in front of the classroom. The mischievous kids stood in a circle around the school’s old ceiling-less toilet. The teachers were chatting in the staff room after having their lunch. Some girls sitting outside the class were dishing among themselves.
I don’t understand why the teachers beat Salma so much,
said Rajjo.
Munni laughing- Hey, she is black-skinned, isn’t she?
Gunjan- But I do not figure out why teachers ask questions from her that are not there in our assignment.
Bhanu Priya- Her father is also a teacher, still but she gets beaten up. The incredible thing is that she is also topping the class for the last 2 years.
Farhat - What to say now? What not to say? Salma is a crybaby. She doesn't talk to anyone.
Then the peon rings the bell to close the half-time. All the children start sitting in their respective classes screaming, shouting, and sprinting.
Salma did not even eat lunch today. Teachers had beaten up her thrice since morning. She was very upset that she was always asked questions that were not there in the lesson.
Salma's father was also a well-known teacher. He too often used to torture Salma at home. Ammi (mom) used to keep her bad condition by teasing her. With 11-year-old Salma, the cycle start taunting on as she was born. Salma got used to living a life of big mother's taunts and discrimination.
As soon as the teacher Vaishnavi enters the class, all the children become quiet. Vaishnavi's eyes fall on Salma sobbing.
Salma my kid, come here. My child seems to have not even eaten. Did some teacher strike you again today?
The whole class speaks out loudly. Madam Salma gets up beaten every day. Teachers mostly beat this up. In this affair, we are saved.
Vaishnavi did not control her patience today. She grabs Salma by the arm and goes straight to the principal's room.
"Hey Vaishnavi Ji, if the teacher disciplines the students, it is only for their benefit. He wants to make his students something in life. Just think. If our teachers had not treated us harshly, would we be a teacher today? The principal said with a smile.
But that is not the point, Principal Mam. Why is Salma the only one being harassed in the class of 39 children? Only this one has to become an officer in the whole class, not others. The rest is understandable, but the one who is a teacher of physical education, yesterday in the playground, because she was behind in the race, he was also conducting sit-ups. In this way, this child will be left behind mentally and physically. The mischievous children of the class keep teasing her by calling them Kali Kalooti (black skinned girl). I am also troubled that how can a teacher's daughter be in such a bad situation. Why don't I have any complaints about it?
Vaishnavi ji, I can understand your emotions. You don't have the right to point fingers at the manners of other teachers anyway.
The principal, consoling Salma, sends her to the class and asks Vaishnavi to stop.
Madam Principal, I have three children. I think 10 times before scolding them. Some children have told me that she is beaten up at home. Her brothers don't treat her generously. An attempt was made to kill her as soon as she was born. Mother's behavior is also not better towards her. Her father is not ready to even talk to her.
Vaishnavi said getting impatient and emotional.
Vaishnavi Ji, being a girl in this country is a crime in itself. I shouldn't have to say. But this girl in your class is the darkest girl in the whole school.
Principal Mam, what's wrong with that?
Vaishnavi, you don't understand. It is very momentous for you to be attractive to live in this dirty and narrow community. Or you should be in a position where no one can brush you. Her father is a very promising teacher. He Visits me once a week. He cares for about it too. He wants his daughter to get more schooling. Reach a high position in life so that she can be married to a good boy in a good house. We teachers deliberately ask Salma questions that we have not given in task. There is no room for doubt that she is not a promising girl. She also answers questions that the rest of the kids don't know. And it is good to see, this time will come to be its strength. The people who beat her today, after 10 years she will not even be remembered. If she would remember that was its position, its education, its best place in the society. Then she will be competent to live happily. She will be able to marry a boy of her choice.
"Now the time to come is alarming anyway. Black boys, whether they are D category employees, are wedding girls who are more educated than themselves. The parents also probably agree that there will be no worry about the daughter's bread. Son-in-law must be a government servant. The daughter will be able to live life comfortably for the rest of her life. But what do parents
