Prologue
It's no secret that God has His favorite chosen
people—originally the Israelites (Jews), descendants of Abraham. Throughout the Bible, we see many examples of God's preference of specific persons over others, even within the Jewish people themselves. It may be difficult to grasp how He could be that way. How can that be fair? We ask. If He's the Creator of all mankind and a loving, caring Father, how does that even make sense?
Well, first of all, God doesn't need to give us a reason for His preferences, but He actually does. And once we understand it, life just falls into place and feels right—even in the midst of all the turmoil. Understanding the concept of God's heart
in desiring and cherishing each and every one of the persons He has chosen to be His is truly comforting.
Chapter 1
No Free Will
What?! But we've been told over and over throughout our lives by parents and churches and society in general that one thing is certain—we all have a free will
to make our own choices in life. And if we are determined and committed to our goals, we can change our situations and outcomes—whether for better or worse—it's up to the choices we make.
Furthermore, we each have a compelling need and desperate desire to have control of our lives. Probably, most of us realize one cannot have complete control over everything, so we make it our constant effort to exercise as much control over the things that we feel best suited to handle. Thus, the controlled areas and degrees vary from person to person—with some persons being almost passive in most areas while extremely manipulative in others. But nearly everyone is focused on controlling whatever they feel capable of manipulating.
But wait…just step back and think about it with an open mind to Truth. If God is really the supreme Creator, Master, and Sustainer of all that exists—both seen and unseen, known and unknown—and He has masterfully designed the entire world and universe to exist in an orderly and precisely detailed manner (that mankind has yet to understand or duplicate), then how does it make any sense at all that He would allow anyone, and especially everyone, to have the ability to alter even one single item or factor or situation etc. without it being according to His entire plan? In other words, He's either Lord of all or He's not really Lord at all. There can only be one true Master of
