    Welcome

I was reminded of the story of Nehemiah (chapters 1–7) this morning.

Though very afraid, Nehemiah sought favor from King Artaxerxes to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. God granted him favor as he sought the Lord, and he left for Jerusalem. Opposition came as Nehemiah was building, yet Nehemiah did not stop. The walls began to be established, and more opposition came, even death threats! Nehemiah kept building. The opposition kept pressing in, and progress was slowed as workers built with one hand and held a weapon with the other, but they kept building. They kept building!

I am so thankful to the Lord, for the many people He has blessed me with, who love me enough to redirect me. He has used different people, at specific times in my life, to help me kick-start, give me a shove when needed, and always give me a loving reminder to keep building!

Monday Morning Moments has been, and will continue to be, stories of my journey with the Lord. Real life stories of ups and downs; with scrapes and bruises along the way, but also of getting up, dusting off, and continuing to build. I have been set free from chains of the past and walk in a fullness that is found in Christ alone. My sins have been forgiven by the one who was sinless and who took my sin and my shame so that I may have life to the fullest. I’m building my life upon the firm foundation that is found in Christ alone.

Sit back, grab a coffee, and journey with me as I encounter Christ, one day at a time. May God be glorified and may your hearts be encouraged.

    Standing in Him,

    Marie

    Restorer of the Broken

I have always loved a variety of crafts; I like to knit, sew, cross-stitch, paint, and make jewelry. Another favorite pastime for me is thrift store shopping. Recently my two loves have collided and started to work as a team. I find myself at a thrift store, or sidewalk shop, searching for items that are broken, items with worn or chipped-off paint, pieces that are tired and worn out, and pieces that have been thrown to the curb as garbage. I bring home the unwanted and re-create, restore, revive, and repurpose them. The other day, I bought some old, tarnished
