Dr. Alfreda Dearing Williams

Dr. Willimas is the owner/director of Priority Family Services, a social work agency in Georgia. She holds degrees as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Doctor of Social Work (DSW). Throughout her lifetime, she has served as a licensed minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and teacher of the Word of God in Christian congregations in Georgia. She is a member of Gospel Hope Church in Avondale Estates, Georgia. She is the mother of seven children and five grandchildren.

PREFACE

This book evolved as a result of the process I went through in obtaining my doctorate degree in social work. Never did I envision what the importance of truly knowing and believing the fact that God knows my name would be on this academic journey and the trajectory of fulfilling God’s purpose for my life.

At sixty-six years of age, I started to pursue my doctorate degree, most definitely defying the ageist perception of an individual’s educational journey. This endeavor had not been a part
