Having a daughter myself, I get to see the mind of my own child each day and just how incredible special her mind is, how creative she can be in her writing and her artwork at times. The following short stories were from when I was around the ages of ten to twelve years old. I had an interest in fantasy, but as we all know pirates, the old west was historical times in history. Film and television often portray pirates as violent thieves who caused mayhem. Cowboys have a similar history in the old west as ranch hands, filled with adventure but also the wild west was wild with murder, indigenous or Native Americans out on the open plains. As children we think of pirates and cowboys or cowgirls as an exciting life, with freedom, which is probably one of the main reasons I wrote about them, because I wanted their freedom.

This edition of stories revolves around those individuals and those historical figures like Walt Disney, Martin Luther King Jr., John Adams, Abe Lincoln, and George Washington. Along with these incredibly important people, I also wrote about the current such myself, my mother and grandfather who I refer to as the devil, in addition to a piece of work on the planets and their origins. The work based on historical figures look as if they could have been assignments in class so as that could have been the perfect environment to write at times as I remember I had to write a lot of papers, much like my daughter who I see also must write many papers even in the fifth grade.
