Al Polson spent twenty-five years in Corporate America with a career growth to being a top executive with multiple Fortune 500 companies. He was responsible for large staffs of people and budgets. After that time, he started his own executive recruiting firm specializing in all salary hiring for the manufacturing industry all over the US and abroad. His company grew to one of the most successful in the industry. He and his company interviewed and worked with thousands of companies and interviewed thousands of job seekers. He has written and presented numerous training sessions on recruiting and hiring. He was an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia for many years. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from the University of Richmond.

I had a very wise professor in college who told me in my junior year that when companies come to campus to interview juniors and seniors, I should sign up for as many as my schedule would allow. I asked him, Why would I possibly interview with some of these firms when I have zero interest in pursuing a career there?
He told me that the experience I would gain from each interview would be priceless. He said, someday, those experiences will give me an opportunity to not only get comfortable with the whole process but also to give me the skill sets that will follow me throughout my career.
