I am writer. I write music, prose, and code. The first is a passion, the third pays the bills, and the second is trying to decide where it belongs. I know most people would call only the second writing and the bookends composing and programming but they are all writing. They all involve imagining something and putting it down on paper for someone else to create what you imagined with sound, their own imagination, or with a computer. In between all that writing my wife and I are staff to three housecats and four community cats and the core of a bar trivia team.

About the Author
I had never seen such a downtrodden town as when I first road into Nikaia. I'd spent two nights sleeping along side the hard dirt track that passed for a rode this far north and was looking forward to sleeping in a real bed for one and perhaps two nights.
At first it looked like any town in the Empire. Most of the buildings were of stone, a few with timber second stories. All had been white washed, even the few fully timber structures. But as I rode into the center I realized the buildings were gray, not bright white. They had not been regularly cleaned nor the white washing renewed for years. On some of the second stories it was faded until the wood grain showed and on the stone it was flaking on at least one point on every building.
