Concubine, Alessandro, is everything she could want in a mate - kind, attentive and in the bedroom, sparks fly. The one thing that stands between them is his status - he's human. Her heart is telling her to give him The Kiss; the sacred sign that she finds him a potential soulmate. However, her memories are hunted of the last time she gave a man that much love.
If Victoria is to hold onto the love she so desperately desires, she must outwit the man who once knew her better than all others, The King… for the games he plays are deadly, and he plays for keeps.

Chapter 1
Alessandro
A lessandro, we have something going on in the back of the club.
My manager said. "I’m going to need you to check it out.
I sighed, turning the walkie-talkie down as I made my way to the back. We always had problems in the club, so I was trying to figure out what the fuck was different about that night. It took me a minute before I could get to the back due to the club being packed that Friday night. Everybody and their mama were there, drinking and dancing at the same time. I wouldn’t have been surprised if there were a couple of people fucking in the bathroom stalls. It was a pretty hectic night. I finally made it to the back door. Pushing it open, I stepped out into the back alleyway.
Hurry up and get him in the back.
I heard someone say.
I turned my head to the right, and my eyes widened when I saw a group of men forcing another man into the back of a van. That was something you didn’t see every day.
Hey, what the hell?!
I shouted, getting their attention. What the fuck are you doing?!
As I headed over to them, I couldn’t help but get the feeling that I was being followed. My dumb ass just had to stop to confirm that action.
Are you Alessandro?
I heard someone say my name.
I turned around and was met with a right hook. My body dropped to the ground hard, and I was knocked out.
IS THIS THE GUY?
I heard someone ask a few moments after I had woken up from my forced nap.
...yeah, that’s him.
A woman said. Do you think the Queen will approve of him?
Cut him.
I felt a stinging pain in my arm, and groaned in agony, trying to break free.
Let me go!
I shouted, squirming around like a damn fish on a fucking hook.
They had hogtied me, leaving me on the ground in that dirty and dark alleyway. The only thing that was there was a light that hung up on the club’s rooftop.
His blood....
I smell it, too.
I rolled over, keeping my eyes on the two standing before me. The woman I had recognized before. She worked inside the club as a bartender. The male beside her, well, I had never seen him. He kneeled before me and smiled. Then, his phone rang. He reached into his pocket and smiled at the phone.
Speak of the devil.
He said to me, then he answered the phone. Mother, how are you? You did? What do you think? Is this the blood you’ve been looking for? Yeah, we got him. It was all thanks to your special assistant at the club. Oh yes, I will be getting him on that plane. You’re welcome, Mother. Goodbye. See you soon.
He hung up the phone, then turned to me.
My mother is going to love you.
He told me. Just hearing how excited she was made my day.
Did I find a good one for Queen Victoria?
Queen Victoria? I was so unfamiliar with that name. Never heard or seen the woman before.
You have.
The guy said as he got back up. I’ll tell her of your good fortune to her.
The guy whistled, and I was grabbed by a couple other men. I tried to snatch away from them and run, but another hit was all it took to knock me out again.
MY EYES OPENED, AND it was darkness all around me. I could tell that I was being transported somewhere the way I was swaying back and forth. I tried to get off the floor, but it was hard due to my hands being tied up by rope.
Hello?
I said.
Once my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I could tell that I was not alone. There were others.
Hello?!
I said a little louder.
Bro, we hear you, okay?
One of the guys said. Calm down and keep your voice down.
Hey! Shut the fuck up back there!
I turned my head to the front and saw a light coming from the front of the vehicle. When I glanced around, I realized that we were in the back of the van.
Hey! What the fuck is this shit?!
Shut the fuck up!
Another person shouted from the front.
What the hell was going on? I pulled myself up, leaning against the aluminum body of the caravan. My eyes shifted from everybody that was in there. It was nothing but men.
You keep going on like that, and you’re going to get us in fucking trouble.
The same guy from before said.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. How could they be calm? We were all in this bitch like fucking slaves.
What’s going on?
I asked in a low tone.
A low sigh was heard.
How many drinks did you have?
The guy asked me.
Just one, and it was my usual gin. Can’t drink too much since I’m a bouncer at the club.
Did you spill blood tonight?
Yeah, when they captured me.
I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.
Looks like it was the Queen’s doing.
Another guy on the van said. She summoned us.
That caught my attention. Who the hell was this ‘Queen’ person?
Queen Victoria?
I asked, confused. I thought the United States does the presidency only? Since when did we get a Queen?
The whole van had gotten quiet.
You never heard of Queen Victoria?
The guy asked me. The Queen of Blood?
No, and what’s up with the damn nickname for her?
The guy chuckled.
It’s not a false nickname.
He told me. It’s the truth.
I don’t care about the name. What does she want with me?
Somebody a part of her community must’ve thought you were valuable to her.
As I tried to remember that night, I ran my tongue over my top lip. I cringe once I felt a fresh cut on the edge of my lip. That’s when my memory came back. Dude hit me hard in the face.
Shit, I forgot about the cut I had on my lip,
I told him.
"Then, there’s
