Up until now my lips have been filled
With spoken words of written thoughts that were sealed
Keeping them to myself apparently wasn't God's will

A Poet Revealed
Introduction
The poems in this book are based on real-life experiences. The written prefaces of the poems are there to take you inside the author's head. They will communicate what I was thinking or feeling and what was going on at the time the poems were written. The words captured are an accurate depiction of my train of thought and in many days have helped me through some very difficult times in my life.
I decided to write this book to potentially encourage and help someone who may have endured or is currently experiencing some of the struggles that I have throughout my life. There have been many days when all I had was a word to get me through. My writing has been extremely therapeutic and resourceful for me during challenging times as well as a source of direction.
I believe you will be encouraged and prayerfully inspired while reading this book. If I can make a difference in just one life, then it makes everything I've been through all worth it. I hope you enjoy this journey as you read some of my most intimate thoughts and listen to my heart.
History of the Poem
HIGH CALLING and DIVINE INTUITION were two of the first poems I wrote. Up until that point, I had no interest in writing and did not know I had the ability to write.
My gift was birthed through the spirit. I began to write from a thought one day while thinking about my process and how I got saved. The poems communicate the sovereignty of God and how HE drew me into the kingdom.
I was an average student while growing up and didn't care much for English or writing. It seemed strange to me that God would give such a gift to someone who, up until this point, had no real appreciation for poetry.
The day I wrote these two poems is the day I fell in love with words.
The High Calling
I heard a voice call me
Suddenly took me by surprise
A voice that wanted to give life
And open up my eyes
The voice began to whisper
Listen…listen
Then just a few moments later
The voice glistened
Immediately with no delay
I wanted to hear what the voice had to say
Silent, anxious, and eager to know
The voice suddenly dropped to an all-time low
My child…my child
The voice instantly arose
It's Jesus the
