About this ebook

Carl was an ordinary Christian—trying to do the right thing, usually attending church except when it interfered with his hobbies, praying (much more often during tough times), and going about his daily life.

His life changed drastically when an industrial accident resulted in four resuscitations and several trips to heaven. This is his story, the story Jesus sent him back to his earthly life to share, the story of being judged by Jesus.

While in a coma, Carl saw, heard, and remembered everything said and done around him, including the angel Jesus sent to comfort and pray with his wife. He also saw his heavenly friends and relatives who preceded him in death. They shared wisdom and warnings of future events and messages for loved ones.

Carl learned not to fret about earthly things; ultimately, they don’t matter. In heaven, everything is provided for you.

This book is the mission Jesus entrusted to Carl to share the amazing wonder of heaven, the importance of being accountable for your actions, and the complete wonder and joy of our happy, laughing, and loving Jesus.

I would like to thank my family and friends as well as Dr. David Knitter. I love you all and am so grateful for the prayers, laughters, love, and hugs. May God give you grace and peace. 1 Thessalonians 1:1

For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

    —2 Corinthians 5:10

I have been judged by Jesus. I was blessed to walk side by side with Him. I had a glimpse into heaven, and it was amazing. I learned that a joyful life really does come with an instruction book; we just have to take the time to study the Bible. I have also battled Lucifer. He intercepted me on my way back to my earthly body. It took the miracle of God's grace for me to be here to tell this story.

In my youth, I attended the Church of Christ regularly, in a small Michigan town. After graduation, I moved often; and although I continued to do carpentry jobs on the side, I changed occupations a few times. First, a block off the beach in California, I worked in a service station, then seismic drilling in Louisiana, railroad mechanic, and eventually as a carpenter in Texas.

By 1984, I was married and had a son, Matt. My son and I attended the Church of the Nazarene regularly. That was one of my favorite churches. Eventually, we moved back to Michigan. We had a daughter, Tara. I didn't attend church regularly at this point in my life.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalms 46:10

I met Jesus face-to-face for the first time when I was twenty-eight years old.

I have worked in construction since I was sixteen. I was working for a construction company, in the bitter cold of northern Lake Michigan. We built high-end homes, from start to finish, usually a full year to complete with all the bells and whistles.

I could not find a place for us to rent, so my boss bought a house from
