Smitten With Jesus - Ginny McDonald
DEDICATION
I would like to dedicate this book to my wonderful Heavenly Bridegroom, for I am my Beloved’s and He is mine, and I long for the time that I will be with Him in His secret chamber.
AND to my wonderful mother, Doris Welch, the bride of one man, Milton Welch, who left this earth to be with Jesus in 1968. My mother was faithful to her Heavenly Bridegroom as well as to my father. She never dated or remarried, but instead dedicated her life to raising her children, and helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I don’t believe that she ever truly realized just how much of a blessing she was to her entire family. I love you, Mom.
FOREWORD
In an era of spiritual ambiguity, this book Smitten with Jesus: Becoming His Beautified Bride rises as a beacon of divine wisdom. Rooted in Scripture and brimming with profound insights, it illuminates the sacred bond between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, drawing parallels with Old Testament betrothal and marriage traditions. Its simplicity and accessibility make it a wellspring of spiritual enlightenment for both seasoned believers and those newly embarking on their spiritual journey.
Centered around Revelations 19:1-9, the book emphasizes the role of personal readiness in anticipation of spiritual marriage with the Lamb. It underscores our responsibility to prepare and beautify ourselves for the arrival of our divine Bridegroom.
The significance of true worship, the essence of intimate communion with the Lord, the value of obedience, and the importance of separating ourselves from worldly attachments are among the many gems this book offers. It employs scriptural narratives from Genesis and Hosea, and the stories of Rebekah, Esther, and Ruth to illustrate these truths. These narratives not only enrich our understanding but also serve as practical guides for our spiritual journey.
However, what sets this book apart is its passionate call to love the Lord with abandon. It invites us to cultivate an intimate relationship with Jesus, to yearn for His return, and to prepare ourselves for the most glorious event to come—the marriage supper of the Lamb. It’s a preparation kit
designed to instill in us a longing for a deeper connection with our Heavenly Father and Bridegroom.
With a compelling blend of scriptural insights and spiritual wisdom, this book is a clarion call to all Christians. It challenges us to step beyond mere church membership and strive for bridal purity, to foster an intimate relationship with Jesus, and to live in eager anticipation of His return.
In essence, this book is a roadmap guiding us on a journey of Leaving, Loving, and Looking
—Leaving behind worldly attachments, Loving the Lord with our whole being, and Looking forward with excitement and expectation for His return.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
This book echoes that heartfelt call, inviting us all to join in the chorus. Read it, digest its truths, and let it stir up a holy hunger in you to be part of the Bride of Christ.

When I began to read the book and all it captures, tears began to fill my eyes. Suddenly I felt like I was going to have my life impacted in a deep way. In this book, Ginny leads you into a powerful journey in the Word. She captures the essence of what it means to be a bride, a lover of God. As a man, I think sometimes I haven’t understood what it really means to be a bride. However, as I have been influenced by this book I feel a deeper understanding is growing in my spirit. As the Bride of Christ, we are called to prepare ourselves, and to be ready for the
Bridegroom. These pages are filled with wisdom and insight that draw us into a deeper and more intimate relationship with the Lord. She finishes strong with a call to leave, love, and look. In these pages, she accomplishes the goal of anticipation. The wedding is coming!
