Heartfelt Poems

About this ebook
My biggest inspiration was the love of my family and God and a desire to show that by acts of kindness and love we can help to improve other people’s lives by following God’s simple way of living, something I only recently discovered and which transformed the way I see life.
Love is………
Love is when you share
One heart
One soul
One mind
It is a promise of a loving kind
The kind that lets them all run free
To find their dreams and liberty
And while pursuing all of this
A seal is made with a kiss
Kerry Dowd
Kerry Dowd was born in Liverpool, where he spent all of his childhood with his parents, Brenda and John, and two brothers, Graham and Paul. He also has a stepbrother, Adam, and a stepsister, Rebecca. He found his school years very difficult and, consequently, did not get the benefit of a good education. However, later in life, he decided to go back to school and even to university, studying English literature. Kerry married his first wife, Yvonne, and they had two children, Katie and Michael; however, sadly, Yvonne died when the children were very young. Six years later, he found true love again and married Beverley, and they had four boys: George, Harry, Alfie and Max. His poems reflect his love for his family and his recent love for God.

Dedication
This book is dedicated to my wife and life, Beverley. She is my soul, mind and heart. Her love, kindness and consideration for our children, myself and everyone she meets is inspiring. She is a beautiful, free-loving soul and she is as close to an angel as you could find.

Our Children
The love for our children is a beautiful thing.
The way they laugh and play, and the joy they bring
When I see them sleeping after a busy day
I feel warmth inside in jocund way.
I love my children in a special way, in a special, special way
A Friend
A friend is someone who is there for you
They’ll go that extra mile because they care for you
Friends are someone to share with; sometimes it’s laughter, sometimes it’s tears.
Friends are there for you over the years
So, if you’re lonely and away from home
With friends to support you, you’re never alone.
Praise
Praise will lift a chin that’s down.
Praise will also lift a frown.
Praise will lift a heavy load,
And help our journey on the road.
When someone gives us praise,
Our load becomes lighter,
Our journeys brighter.
Finding God
Finding God is having
Faith
Hope
And love.
With them we are together and meek
Without them we are divided and weak.
Love will bring us together,
But Faith will give us hope that will last forever.
Mum
Mum it’s impossible to measure everything you do.
Your thoughtfulness and consideration saturate everyone but you
Your feelings and emotions are so genuine and sincere,
It makes the people around you always wanting to be near.
We’re all so grateful for your love and the kind things that you do,
But everyone who knows you Mum just knows that that’s just you.
My Mum
My mum is always there for us,
She’s like a saint that says a prayer for us.
A selfless person with others in mind,
Always busy and trying to be kind,
She lives for others in her daily grind.
My mum is so special,
She is one of a kind.
Love
Love is giving, love is kind
Love is when two become one mind
Love is endless, love is sure
Love is always wanting more
The more we love, the more we give
What a wonderful way to live.
Giving Time
When someone gives their time
It’s a blessing to a friend
To lift a broken spirit,
And help them on the mend.
Time to listen,
