About this ebook

Тhis is a small and sensitive story, short episode from war times

Acting persons are almost real people, but with changed roles

I, as the author of the book, wish my readers that wars for them would be unreal, distant book stories....

    Military target /Военный обьект/ - Marzpetuni Zadoyan

The tragedy of war is that it uses

Man’s best to do man's worst.

    (Anonymous)

    ––––––––

It is already the tenth day since Nikita returned from a training courses. He submitted a report the day after his arrival. He mentioned where he was, what he studied, who taught him, how he spent his time outside of class, how much money he spent, but he didn't mention anything about the rest, because many things can be considered confidential. The limits of secrecy will be determined by their adviser, the colonel, and presented to the officials who have the authority to decide it. The colonel, Volodya Panchenko, was the colonel of the Soviet missile forces, he was a very patriotic person and after the Ukrainian revolution (Maidan) he invested all his knowledge and experience in strengthening the defense of New Ukraine. It is true that he does not hold high-ranking positions, he is over 70 years old, now he is an adviser to the regiment commander. The regiment where Nikita and friends are contract soldiers is a rocket-artillery regiment, and the consulting services of the rocket colonel are extremely important here.

It's already the tenth day, only now they decided to call them, and they didn't call the headquarters, but surprisingly, they sent a helicopter to a military unit and gave them two hours to prepare.

Is he already such an important person? thought Nikita.

    ––––––––

In the helicopter was the colonel and the three friends themselves: Nikita, Seryoga and Taras. Vitaly was absent. Four people went on a training courses. They spent two months in Turkey and learned how to fly drones. Now they were being taken to a place by helicopter with some important task. He didn't know where, he didn't know how long. He only knew that they would arrive in the morning. It was assumed that the sudden departure would be related to their training courses. Now it was night, the engine of the helicopter was humming in unison, everyone was asleep. Nikita was lost in thoughts and could not sleep.

Nikita is the youngest, 23 years old, but the command trusted him. There is confidence because his great-grandfather, that is, his father's grandfather, was an anti-Soviet figure... he was a Cossack atama, fought against the Red Army and was killed in those battles.

Of the four children of that grandfather, only his father's father remained in Ukraine, and three daughters moved to Russia. Two of them married Russians... one is in Krasnodar, the other in Rostov, and the younger one was married to a communist official of Tatar nationality and lived in Moscow. Nikita does not remember his grandfather, he heard that his grandfather was a kind person and had relations with all the sisters, he visited them, but his father had no relations with anyone. Now Nikita not only has no connections, but also does not know anyone. He doesn't know, but when Taras curses the Russians, he scoldes Taras because he has many Russian relatives.

Taras himself is from the small town of Novovolinsk in western Ukraine. He is a few years older than Nikita, he was born in the nineties, when the USSR was no longer there. That little town, Novovolinsk, is on the border with Poland. From a young age, Taras helped his parents, who were engaged in retail trade with the Poles. From here they gave vodka to the Poles, bought household goods from them and resold them in the city of Lutsk. Taras has not been to Russia and has not had much contact with Russians. He heard from somewhere that the real homeland of Russians is Ukraine, Kievan Rus. He is sure that the native Russians are Ukrainians, and the Russians of Russia are a mixture of different nations who want to occupy his country.

The other friend, Seryoga, is the oldest and relatively more reserved, even though he is from Mariupol itself, which the Russians completely destroyed. Seryoga lived in the neighborhood of Russians, made friends with them, and his wife is Russian from her mother's side.

    Seryoga disagrees with Taras that
