Special thanks to Alison Parkin for her diligent work as a copy editor.
Dear Reader,
In 'Hats Off to Britain' a collection of digital, modern hat designs awaits you, each reflecting various aspects of British culture. The designs range from those inspired by British art styles, national festivals, and famous landmarks to hats that capture the essence of typical British flora and fauna, and the diversity of sporting and culinary traditions.
The richness of the themes in this collection is mirrored by the variety of materials I have used in my designs. By experimenting with elements such as fabric, wood, metal, and even less conventional materials like resin and glass, I have been able to create designs that may not always be easily executed in the physical world.
As a Dutch woman who admires the vibrant hat culture of Great Britain, and as a lover of digital art, it was a natural step for me to bring these two passions together in this book.
Whether you are an amateur or a professional hat maker, someone who is interested in having hats designed or simply love fashion, I hope you will enjoy
