Amy sits on the couch in front of the TV, her legs tucked up to her chest, Wii U controller in both hands. She’s dressed in her pajamas already, even though it’s only 8:30 at night. Behind her, her best friend and roommate Joseph is working at the dinner table, wearing his reading glasses and going over legal reports for his job, studiously trying to ignore the beckoning sounds of both the video game and of Amy’s laughter.
