Chapter 1
War Against Poverty
Poverty is no respecter of person, age, color, title, race, place or religion. So you must fight it to survive in life. Poverty is a spirit that needs to be fought. Fight it or it will ruin you. The demon of poverty has ruined many due to their ignorance of God’s provision for mankind. But now it is too late for poverty, for the cure of lack and want is Jesus, God’s provision.
Proverbs 13:22 KJV
[22] A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
Good people leave inheritance to their children's children but the wicked are not so, rather they leave their children's children with debts. Thus how many African leaders are. They lead their nations into debts and leave the unborn generation with debts. That is real wickedness. Many politicians are like that. They don’t mind emptying the future of the unborn generation. They run their nations and states into debts. Anybody who wants to be poor in life is a witch. Only a wicked person dies and leaves debts for his children.
Poverty is not a good thing. Children of God must resist and reject the spirit of poverty. Poverty is a curse.
What is poverty?
It is the state of having little or no money, or no means of support at all. It is the state of being extremely poor in money, goods or means of support. It is the state of living in insufficiency or inferior life.
There are different levels of poverty from Scripture:
The poor -
Thus those who live in the just enough level
In Jn 12:8
It is not God's will for you to have just enough for yourself and your immediate family only. God's plan is to have abundance. That's why he sent Jesus, so we can live and have life more abundantly.
John 10:10b
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly
.
From the New Living Translations, it Says:My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
THE POORER -
Thus those who have or live inthe barely enough level
in Lev 27:8
What they have is not enough to satisfy them neither to talk of leftover. But the plan of God is for us to live richly and a satisfying life. It is God's Will that we dwell in the overflow level.
JOHN 10:10 AMP
[10] The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
The poorest -
Thus the never enough level
,
In 2kings 24:14.
..............None remained except the poorest people of the land.
As for this state, they don't even have what to eat or take care of themselves at all. No means of support for their lives.
From scriptural point, poverty is a curse. Lack and no resources is a curse. Poverty comes as a result of not following the commandments, statutes and laws of God. Putting aside the principles of God and establishing your own way to live life can be dangerous and detrimental. This is the cause of no resources.
Deuteronomy 28:15-25 KJV
[15] But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: [16] Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. [17] Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store. [18] Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. [19] Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out. [20] The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. [21] The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it. [22] The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extremel burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish. [23] And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron. [24] The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed. [25] The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
All the above mentioned curses comes as a result of sinful living. The refusal to walk in the ordinances of God Almighty.
But this is the reason Jesus came.
He came to take away the curse from us if only we will hear and receive him. He came to destroy the works of the devils.
1 John 3:8-9 KJV
[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. [9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
How?
Christ has redeemed us from the law and the curse of sin and want.
Galatians 3:13-14 KJV
[13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: [14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
So if you are born again, poverty is no longer your portion. Reject it by receiving the grace of Jesus. It is the grace of Jesus that makes rich. The child of God has no business with poverty. Poverty can only happen to a child of God if he/she is ignorant and rebellious. Jesus took away our poverty long since.
2 Corinthians 8:9 KJVS
[9] For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
This made a way for us to be rich in all things like father Abraham. The Bible say in Genesis Twenty-four that Abraham was rich in all things. This can also be found in Genesis thirteen verses two. Abraham was rich in cattle, silver and gold. That is why the bible says we are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Galatians 3:9 KJV
[9] So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
