    On This Mountain

    (Scene begins with ERMENGARDE standing peacefully at the right side of the stage, looking deeply into the distance to the right. MARK enters the scene running onto the stage, clearly exhausted and nearly hopeless, looking cold, lost, and confused.)

    MARK

    HEYYYYY! HEY YOUUUUU! What is this?! Where are we?!

    (ERMENGARDE turns around, unstartled, to gaze upon MARK.)

    God, I was so worried I was the only one up here.

    ERMENGARDE

    Hm... I was starting to wonder that myself. Welcome.

    MARK

    It's nice to see another face; I feel like I've been walking for hours! Where are we? What is this place?

    ERMENGARDE
