The Mysterious World of Cyberpunk - Elif Jung

Chapter 1 First Entering the Dungeon

In the cool morning, Henry walked slowly on the dirty path. The ground was full of stinking sewage and various brightly colored household garbage. Rats would occasionally come in and out of the corners, squeaking as they picked out the delicacies in front of them.

The surrounding buildings are crooked iron houses that look very cheap, and many of them are even covered with iron patches. There are only small windows on the iron doors, and they are all closed .

When he walked out of the path, he came to a slightly wider road. The neon lights on both sides of the road kept flashing, mostly purple and blue crossed, giving people a strong visual impact.

But compared to the gorgeous neon lights, most of them are dilapidated, and many of the words no longer flash.

The projections on the street were also twitching constantly, and it looked like they would go out at any moment. This was the case in most places in the slums.

When Henry walked through the street, he heard screams from a small alley, but he didn't even turn his head. This was normal. Beatings and murders were common here.

After leaving the street, he walked straight out of the slum. After walking for a while, he saw his destination. There was only a lonely brick house standing in the wilderness. No one cared when it appeared, and no one cared when it would collapse.

When he walked to the front of the brick house, he took out the key, opened the rusty iron door, and walked in.

The yard is very clean, without even a single weed. In this severely polluted world, even the growth of weeds is a luxury.

Henry looked up at the sky. The sky was gloomy and very low, but it was not going to rain. This situation had lasted for hundreds of years, but the factory did not restrain itself at all because those consortiums did not care.

He walked up the brick steps to the roof, sat on the eaves holding a diary, and looked out at the tall buildings in the distance.

Huge projections dance among these buildings. Some of the women in the projections are charming and attractive, while others are pure and lovely. They don’t look like bionic people at all.

There are some black and white spots shuttling between the buildings. They are flying vehicles that basically never appear in slums, but are very common in rich areas.

Even though he had never been there, Henry could imagine the luxurious scenes there, the most sophisticated body modifications, the convenient and fast life, the orderly and clean streets, and the various delicacies he had never eaten.

These were all luxuries for him. Poor people like them could not even have enough food, let alone delicious food . They could only work hard every day or rob others to barely fill their stomachs.

Henry touched the axe on his waist. There were too few hot weapons in the slums. They were not only very expensive but also illegal. Only gangsters had them. Some of them even had body modifications, but if they were found with hot weapons by the bionic patrol team , they would be shot on the spot.

He didn't even have a hot weapon , let alone body modification, so he made an alloy axe by himself. Because the axe was too heavy, the axe handle had to be made of wood to reduce the weight.

The poor have always been the objects of exploitation, and such a life makes Henry miserable. He longs for the life of the rich, but hates the consortium that suppresses and bullies them.

Not only are daily necessities controlled here, but even food is controlled by the consortium, which hires people at low prices and then sells them to the poor at high prices. At the same time, they use virtual games to make people sink, making the poor sink into short-lived happiness, making them even more powerless to turn over.

But now he has a chance to change his life. Before his death, his mother gave him an old diary that recorded the family secrets.

He also knew why his father left when he was a child. The family curse meant that no one could live past the age of thirty, without exception.

The only way to lift the curse is to enter the dungeon recorded in the diary. At the end of the first level of the dungeon there are clues to lifting the curse, as well as a chance to rise.

According to the records in the diary, it was extremely dangerous in there. Few people had ever come out of it, and most of them died in there.

The dungeon was right under the brick building. Henry took another deep look at the tall building that people longed for, and slowly stood up from the eaves.

After brushing off the dirt on his body, he came to the only room. After knocking on the wall in the corner several times in a regular pattern, an old wooden door appeared on the wall.

He hesitated for a moment, then opened the old wooden door. A creaking sound reached his ears, and at the same time, a lot of sawdust fell on his hands.

Henry looked at the stairs leading to darkness behind the wooden door. The darkness was so deep that it seemed as if even the light would be swallowed by it. Just staring at it made people shudder.

The wind kept blowing from the dungeon to the outside, and he could hear a whistling sound in his ears, but it also sounded like something was crying. The cool feeling made his hair stand on end, as if the wind was blowing from a grave.

He took a deep breath, and the smell of decay made him feel a little suffocated. He held his breath again involuntarily. The smell seemed to say that this was a burial place.

Henry gritted his teeth and tried to take a step forward, but his legs seemed to weigh a thousand pounds and he couldn't move at all. If he stepped in, he might not be able to live for another nine years but might die at any time.

He felt something salty and rusty in his mouth, and then he realized that his mouth was bleeding again, as if God was reminding him that he had no choice.

This made him firm in his determination and he stepped into the dungeon. In order to survive, he had no choice but to fight for his life.

The dull sound of footsteps reached Henry's ears. He couldn't see the stairs under his feet, but he could feel the hard touch of the stairs. However, this touch gradually became empty until he stepped on the ground again and it felt real again.

Faintly, he saw a glimmer of light in the darkness, and then he walked towards the direction of the light. The light was getting closer and closer, but it was still faint.

When he got closer, he could see clearly that it was the light coming through the gap of a wooden door. Judging from the brightness of the light, the light behind the door was not very bright.

Henry slowly pushed open the wooden door, which also creaked. It seemed that the door was also very old.

After making sure that there was nothing dangerous inside, he stepped in and looked around the room. This room was built with blue bricks, and there were candles in the four corners. The faint light divided the shadow into four parts.

The room was empty except for a tattered rectangular wooden table in the middle, on which sat an intricate metal bow and a pot of arrows.

Everything else was very old, only the bow and arrow looked brand new, as if someone had placed it there just moments ago.

After observing it for a while, Henry carefully picked up the bow and tried to pull it. He felt nothing special, as if it was just a powerful hunting bow developed by the consortium.

Then he picked up the pot of arrows again, and after observing them, he determined that they were just ordinary metal arrows, and the workmanship was even very crude.

Just when he was feeling a little disappointed here, a rectangular black block appeared on the wall opposite the wooden door. It appeared on the wall out of thin air, just like the wooden door that appeared out of thin air before.

Henry approached cautiously and found that it was still a staircase extending downwards. Only then did he believe that what was written in the diary was true.

he stepped in without hesitation .

When Henry stepped onto the stairs, the candlelight in the room behind him swayed slightly, as if cheering for him, or weeping for him.

He didn't notice all this, he just walked down step by step. With every step he took, candles would light up on both sides.

The staircase was not too long, and Henry soon reached the end. When he walked out of the stairs, a musty smell filled the air.

What appeared before his eyes was a long passage. The walls on both sides of the passage were built with huge bluestone bricks, which were now covered with moss.

It was cold and damp here. A drop of black water dripped from the top of the passage from time to time. The dripping sound was regular, and it was hard to tell whether the water was condensation of moisture or seeping in from somewhere.

Just as Henry was observing his surroundings, he heard a rustling sound at the end of the passage, which immediately made him alert. He quickly pulled out an arrow and put it on the bowstring.

Just as he was staring at the end of the passage, the sound stopped, and after a moment there was still no movement, as if it had never appeared at all.

Henry looked back, but it didn't matter. His heart sank immediately because there was no door behind him, only a wall.

Moreover, the wall looked very old and was covered with moss. He reached out and touched the wall. The touch felt so real, as if he had just had an illusion, and the door seemed to have never appeared.

There is no way out... Henry muttered to himself, then slowly walked towards the passage with his bow and arrow. His footsteps were very light, trying not to make any noise with every step.

Because he knew that this dungeon was not just scary in appearance, but was truly terrifying. Many ancestors had entered this dungeon in search of a way to lift the curse, but few had ever walked out, and only a very small number could reach the end of the first floor of the dungeon.

This does not include Henry's father, who entered here when he was a child and he has never seen his father since then.

Henry shook off the past events in his mind and slowly approached the end of the passage. At this moment, the crashing sound suddenly rang out again .

His whole body tensed up immediately and he drew his bow and aimed at the corner of the passage, while the sound gradually became closer and clearer.

Henry swallowed his saliva and pulled the bowstring with all his strength. The next moment, a metal skeleton with flesh and blood appeared in his sight, with red light flashing in the holes in the skeleton's eyes.

The skeleton's broken electronic eyes looked at Henry, which made him tremble all over. The taut bowstring could not be pulled again, and the arrow instantly shot at the skeleton.

However, what disappointed Henry was that the arrow actually passed directly through the skeleton's body without causing any damage to it.

At this moment, the skeleton stepped forward and rushed towards him. Although the enemy had no weapons in his hands, he still felt a chill down his spine as he had never seen such a scene before.

Henry did not attack the skeleton again, but turned around and ran back, but there was no road behind him, and he could not create distance and shoot again.

The most important thing was that the skeleton rushed over very fast, and he could not outrun it at all. He could only watch the skeleton rushing behind him and suddenly pounce on him.

At this time he finally mustered up the courage, hurriedly pulled out the axe from his waist, turned around and chopped it hard. The axe immediately hit the skull's head and was deeply embedded in the skull.

Just when he thought he had dealt with the skeleton, the skeleton grabbed his neck and opened its mouth to bite him.

Seeing that he was about to be bitten by the skeleton, Henry roared and kicked the skeleton's leg, causing the skeleton to stagger and his bite missed.

He also took the opportunity to pull out the axe and chopped hard at the skeleton's neck. Just as the skeleton was about to raise his head, the axe chopped off his head and it never moved again.

Henry hurriedly pushed the headless skeleton away, then took two steps back. At this time, his body was soaked with sweat. Although he had known that there was a monster inside, it was still too scary when he faced it.

At this moment, a strange wind blew up in the dungeon. The wind seemed to blow through his body and straight into his bones, causing him to feel excruciating pain as if he were being pricked by countless needles.

The severe pain made him fall to the ground. His eyes went dark and he lost consciousness. He didn't know how much time had passed before he gradually woke up.

At this time, an ethereal voice sounded in the dungeon Affected by the wind of ether, you have gained a special ability weapon enhancement; after use , it can increase the attack power of the weapon. It is currently at level 1. It can be upgraded after killing a certain number of ghosts.

    Chapter 2 Weapon Enhancement

Henry stood up, holding his head. He didn't know if he was hallucinating, but the pain just now was so real, and the motionless skeleton in front of him seemed to say that all this was true.

He slowly raised the axe in his hand and said tentatively Weapon strengthening. As the words fell, a milky white halo appeared on the weapon.

This made Henry even more certain that what he had just experienced was not an illusion. He thought about chopping at the skeleton on the ground with force, and the axe easily split the skeleton's bones, which was much easier than chopping off the skeleton's neck just now.

This made him look up with the axe in his hand, but the white halo became smaller and smaller, and disappeared completely after a while.

Henry chopped the skeleton with the axe again, but found it a little difficult and did not break the skeleton's bones.

At this time, he roughly understood the function of this special power. It seemed that it could temporarily strengthen weapons, but the time was very short and the effect disappeared after a while.

Henry was not surprised by this kind of superpower, because he knew that many people in the rich area had superpowers and magic, so they were the ruling class of this world and controlled most of the wealth and arms.

Sometimes, there are a few people with special abilities in the civilian area, but they are all recruited by the rich area to serve them. However, the civilians have never learned magic because the rich do not allow it.

Most of the poor people like Henry are labeled the moment they are born in the slums and cannot get rid of it throughout their lives. They are not even allowed to enter the civilian areas, let alone the rich areas.

This phenomenon is not only due to wealth, but also because supernatural powers are rarely seen in the slums, let alone magic.

After all, even guns are not allowed in the slums, let alone resistance, but everyone in the rich areas has a flying vehicle and lives a luxurious life that the poor can't even imagine.

However, this superpower did not bring him surprise but fear, because it would bring him disaster. The rich would not allow the poor to have superpowers. If they found out that the poor had superpowers, they would immediately send bionic people to clean them up.

Henry decided not to tell anyone the secret of his super powers, otherwise he would be killed. No one can fight against those financial groups. They are like gods in this world, controlling everything in this world.

After brushing off the dirt on his body, he walked deeper into the dungeon. When he reached the corner, he picked up the empty arrow and put it back into the quiver .

This thing is the basis of life-saving, so naturally not a single one can be wasted easily. Although I just shot it empty, I can just practice a few more times.

After Henry turned a corner, he found that the passage on this side was also empty. It seemed that there was only the skeleton. But it was a good thing that it was like this, otherwise he might never wake up again.

At the end of this passage there is a stone tablet with the words The way to the end of the first floor requires passing through death and traps, through illusions and weirdness, and you will eventually reach it.

After looking for a while, he guessed some of the things he might encounter, but he could only guess based on the literal meaning and had no idea what he would encounter specifically.

As he continued to move forward, he vaguely heard some low groans. The sound seemed to come from deep underground, which made people feel chilly.

This made him think of a dead body in his mind, as if a person who had been dead for many years had crawled out of the ground, as if he would appear behind him in the next moment and bite off his head.

Henry picked up the bow and arrow without hesitation. Although the flesh and blood skeletons were not too powerful, he could not guarantee that all monsters were as easy to deal with as skeletons. It would definitely be better to be cautious in such a scary place.

After slowly turning another corner, he saw a zombie slowly walking towards him. The zombie walked very slowly and even staggered a little.

But the zombie's rotten face almost made Henry vomit on the spot. He even saw a worm crawling in and out of the zombie's mouth, and its eyes were constantly wriggling. It was obvious that there were worms inside.

After dry heaving a few times, Henry didn't dare to waste any more time. Although the zombies moved very slowly, if he delayed any longer they would probably be able to reach him.

Resisting the feeling of nausea, Henry aimed the arrow at the zombie's head and shot without hesitation, but the arrow missed .

He had never practiced archery, so his accuracy was not very good. Fortunately, he had a whole pot of arrows, so he could shoot twenty arrows and miss many times without any problem.

Now the slow-moving zombies were living targets, perfect for practice, but he would rather face a skeleton, because this terrifying and disgusting thing almost drove him crazy.

Henry took a few steps back and drew his bow again, but this time he aimed at the chest instead of the zombie's head.

Although the arrow deviated a little after being shot, it still hit the zombie's waist. However, he was not happy about it. The zombie continued to move forward as if it had not been hit.

It seems that attacking the body cannot cause effective damage to zombies. Maybe it is the same as skeletons. Only attacking the head or knocking the head off can do the job.

Henry pulled the bow again, and this time he did not step back. Instead, he aimed at the zombie's head at a closer distance, and then the arrow hit the zombie's head accurately.

But the arrow only hit the zombie's head and did not penetrate too deep. The zombie was still moving slowly and steadily towards this side, while making low groans.

Seeing that the zombie was about to reach him, he quickly stepped back a few steps. At this moment, the zombie suddenly pounced on him.

The zombie's hands almost brushed past his face , and he could even smell a strong stench of decay, which made his stomach churn.

But now is not the time to be disgusted. If he doesn't dodge, it will be dangerous. Henry immediately took a few steps back and avoided the zombie's hand that was grabbing his ankle.

He didn't expect that the zombies would suddenly pounce on him after approaching. Its previous behavior was like deliberately paralyzing the enemy, letting the enemy relax their vigilance before attacking.

Henry backed away while staring at the zombie. The zombie slowly got up and continued to walk towards him, as if the action of pouncing just now had never happened.

Seeing this, he could only shoot an arrow and retreat a few steps, but after several arrows none of them could penetrate the zombie's head, and his arms were already a little sore.

Although theoretically he had twenty arrows, his arms were sore after he had only shot a few. It looked like he could only shoot about ten at most.

Henry took a few steps back and whispered, Weapon strengthening. This was his only way to deal with zombies. He didn't know how many times he could use this ability in a short period of time, so he didn't dare to use it carelessly.

After raising the arrow and aiming it at the zombie's head, he did not shoot immediately. Instead, he walked forward a few steps, got closer, and when he was sure of his shot, he suddenly let go.

This time, the arrow with a white halo instantly shot at the zombie's head, and penetrated deeply with a pu sound. Although it did not penetrate, half of the arrow body had already been sunken.

The zombie suddenly stopped, then fell straight back, and fell to the ground with a bang , without any more movement.

The bugs on the zombies' bodies quickly crawled out and then crawled around. Henry was so scared that he quickly stepped back, fearing that these things were poisonous.

Fortunately, the bugs were just crawling around unconsciously and soon crawled into the cracks in the blue bricks of the dungeon. He then breathed a sigh of relief.

Chapter 3 Relics of the Predecessors

After Henry picked up all the arrows, he looked at the last arrow nailed to the zombie's head, sighed, and covered his nose to pull out the arrow.

He first pulled hard but failed to get it out, and as a result some more insects inside crawled out. He stepped back in panic and stepped on quite a few of them.

But even so, he moved closer to the zombie again, held his breath, and slowly twisted the arrow a few times before pulling it out.

rubbing the arrowheads clean on the zombies , he put the arrows back into the quiver . There were twenty arrows left, and not a single one was missing. This was the only thing to be thankful for.

Although he felt a little disgusted, Henry couldn't help but take another look at the zombie. After making sure that it didn't stand up again, he walked deeper into the passage, trying to find the way to the end of the first level of the dungeon.

The rest of the road was very safe. He turned a few corners without encountering any monsters. Soon he came to a large room with rows of cells on both sides. The wooden doors looked very rotten.

And in those cells there are corpses, not only human corpses, but also corpses of various monsters. No one knows what mistakes they made to be locked up here.

But no matter what, they can no longer leave, because from the surface these monsters have completely lost their life characteristics, unless they are undead creatures themselves.

This may be why skeletons and zombies appeared before, instead of other monsters. It seems that it is because they were all locked up here, but then no one took care of them, so they all died.

Henry slowly walked through the middle of the cell, constantly watching these squashed monsters to prevent them from suddenly rising up and breaking out of the cage.

Some of these monsters still had their original appearance vaguely recognizable, including giant, flattened spiders, bugs with only giant shells left, and even a dried-up tree.

The rest are mostly skeletons. In addition to some human-like ones, there are also some very large skeletons, which seem to be bears or something like that. There are also some very small skeletons, which are probably only half the height of a human, like dwarfs.

Looking at these strange corpses and skeletons, Henry could imagine how terrifying and brutal these monsters were before he was born. He really didn't want to encounter these things on his way down.

Whether he encountered a bear or a giant spider, he felt that he was in great danger. As long as he couldn't shoot them from a distance, there was a high probability that he would become their food if he got close to them.

At the end of the room he saw a skeleton, which looked like a human skeleton. Next to it was another broken skeleton, but this skeleton was not human-shaped, but looked like a large canine.

The lower body of this canine monster was broken, but until its death it was still biting the skeleton and refused to let go. It looked like they died together.

Henry followed the skeleton and looked behind it, and then saw a backpack behind the skeleton. The backpack was rotten and there didn't seem to be much in it.

He thought for a moment and said softly, I'm sorry, I don't want to disturb you, but in order to lift the family curse I must continue. If you are my ancestor, please bless me.

After saying that, he gently turned over the skeleton, and then opened the backpack that crumbled at the slightest touch. Inside was a few bags of bread. Through the plastic bags, he could see that the bread had grown mold and had become dry and flat. He didn't know if there were bacteria in it or if the bags were not sealed well enough.

But these were not what Henry was looking for. After pushing aside the bread that was beyond description, he saw a pitch-black round ball. If he was not mistaken, this thing should be called a grenade. It was a very ancient thing, but he didn't know if it could still be used now.

After carefully taking out the grenade, he observed it and found some rust on it, but not too serious. He also didn't know if it would explode if accidentally bumped or squeezed.

Although this thing was a bit dangerous, he still put it in his backpack. This would be one of the few means of attack. He just hoped that this thing would not explode immediately when he pulled it.

After putting away the grenade, Henry took off the canine monster's head , then laid the predecessor who entered the dungeon flat on the ground, and then put the backpack on it, but the backpack was scattered all over the body.

There was no soil in the dungeon, so it was impossible to dig a hole. Henry could only use this method as a substitute for a grave so that this predecessor could rest in peace.

Thank you for the gift, senior. I hope you can help me leave this dungeon alive. After saying that, Henry stood up and walked to the end of the room.

There was a shabby wooden door at the end of the room. It was only half-open and not locked. Even the key and lock were still hanging on the door, as if the person guarding the cell had left in a hurry.

He could imagine what happened here. It was very likely that a monster escaped, or some monster rushed into the cell, so they were forced to evacuate, and even a fierce battle took place.

After Henry left the cell, he continued walking forward, but he felt a little hungry after walking a short distance. After all, he had been here for quite some time. Fortunately, he put bread in his backpack when he came in.

He walked forward while eating, but he always felt something was wrong. He looked up and found that there were groups of bats hanging above his head. These bats seemed to have not noticed him at all and just hung there quietly.

After a quick look, I estimated that there must be tens of thousands of bats. I couldn't see the end at a glance, mainly because I couldn't see clearly from a distance and the candles in the dungeon were too dim.

Just as Henry was about to move forward, the bats above his head became a little restless, as if they were about to fly up at the next moment.

Seeing this, he turned around and ran back without hesitation. Before he had run a few steps, the bats flew up one after another and rushed towards Henry quickly.

These bats were too small and there were too many of them to kill them with bows and arrows, axes, or even grenades.

If these bats were blood-sucking, Henry felt that he would not be able to hold out for long and would probably be sucked dry soon.

Fortunately, he was not too far away from the previous cell, so he turned around and ran back, and finally rushed to the door before the bats caught up with him.

But just as he entered and was about to close the door, a bat flew in from the gap in the door and attacked him.

Henry swung his axe hastily upon seeing this, but the bat was too agile. It nimbly avoided all attacks and bit his arm.

He quickly retracted his hand, and the bat missed his target and only tore off a little fabric of his coat, but did not hurt him.

Henry then swung the axe desperately, trying to drive away the bat. The bat immediately flew away, but did not give up. Instead, it kept looking for opportunities to attack.

When he saw the bat flying away, he quickly took out his bow and arrow and shot at the bat, but the bat was flying too fast and he couldn't aim at all.

The bat would not wait for him to take aim slowly and soon rushed up again. Henry released the bowstring in panic and the arrow was almost shot randomly, failing to hit the bat.

But to his surprise, the bat actually bumped into the arrow because of its fast speed, and was immediately pierced through the heart. It was really like a blind cat catching a dead mouse.

In fact, Henry was not afraid of the bat. What he was afraid of was that he would get sick if bitten by a bat. If he accidentally got sick in such a place, he would most likely die.

Chapter 4 The Thief in the Dream

After Henry locked the wooden door, he continued to use his body to hold it against the door to prevent the bats from entering again, and from time to time he could hear banging sounds behind him.

The bats tried to enter the cell, perhaps because they smelled something that attracted them, or perhaps because they sensed a fresh living person waiting for them to feed.

This situation made it impossible for Henry to move forward for a while, and he could only hide in this cell. Looking at the room full of corpses and skeletons, he smiled bitterly helplessly. He had just said goodbye to the skeleton of his predecessor, and now he met him again.

He looked through his backpack, which contained food, medicine, lighters and other things. He was well prepared this time. At least the food was enough for many days, and he also had some commonly used medicines.

When Henry set his eyes on the grenade, he began to hesitate whether to use it now.

But there were too many bats. If he failed to kill all of them, the remaining bats would prevent him from passing through the passage ahead.

He picked up the grenade, but just stared at it. After a moment, he sighed slightly, knowing that this would not solve the current predicament.

As the banging sounds behind him became less and less, Henry felt his vision become a little blurry, as if it was already night time.

He tried hard to keep himself awake, but his head kept falling forward from time to time. Then he leaned against the door frame. Although his head did not fall forward again, his eyelids became heavier and heavier.

He vaguely felt that he saw a short man with green skin. He was wearing a cloak and carrying a bag. He had a cunning expression on his face and looked left and right every few steps. He looked very shifty.

Soon the man came to Henry, waved his hand in front of his eyes, picked up his backpack and ran away.

He hurriedly wanted to get up and chase after him, but found that he couldn't get up at all. His body couldn't move at all, as if he was possessed by a ghost.

Henry could only watch the green-skinned thief take away his backpack. He wanted to shout anxiously, but no sound came out. He suddenly realized that he might be in a dream.

Thinking of this, he felt a little relieved. It didn’t matter if his backpack was stolen in the dream, because his things would still be there when he woke up.

Thinking of this, Henry closed his eyes and continued to sleep. After an unknown amount of time, he slowly opened his eyes, but the scene in front of him stunned him.

There was no bag in front of him, the ground was very clean, and there was not even any trace of the backpack on the ground, as if the bag had disappeared out of thin air.

Henry's eyes widened and he said in disbelief How is this possible? How could it really be stolen? It was obviously just a dream!

He hurriedly got up and searched everywhere, but after looking around, he did not find any trace of the backpack, and the thief did not even leave any footprints. The only thing that was not lost was the grenade he was holding when he slept.

He sat on the ground helplessly, and angrily wanted to throw the thing in his hand away, but after raising his hand high, he stopped. This was a life-saving thing, and if he threw it away, it would be a life-threatening thing.

Now not only is there no food, but also no medicine, lighters and other things. In other words, if he gets sick here, he can only rely on his immunity to heal himself. If the disease cannot heal itself, then he can only wait to die.

Henry weakly put his hand down and carefully put away the grenade. Although he was angry, things had come to this point and he had to move forward.

Now he not only has to look for secrets but also for food and water. Otherwise, even without being attacked by monsters, he will die of thirst or hunger and become a corpse waiting to be eaten by monsters.

After listening to the noises beside the wooden door and making sure that there were no bats attacking outside, he carefully opened the door. After opening it, he found that there were many holes in the door, which were caused by the bats .

However, it’s not that these bat heads are so hard, but that the wooden door is really too old. It will fall apart at the touch. He is lucky that it has not been broken.

Henry looked outside the door and found that the bats were hanging upside down at the top of the passage again. He tried to walk out a few steps, and after making sure that the bats were not moving, he continued to move forward this time.

It seems that the bats have regular and cyclical activities. Not every approach will alert them. Perhaps they only start to move at night.

He walked carefully and lightly, for fear of making any noise and alerting the bats. It would then be impossible for him to run back.

Just as he was walking forward, he suddenly felt his foot kick something. He looked down and found it was a moss-covered bone.

But the terrible thing was that after the bone was kicked out, it collided with the blue bricks, making a clattering sound. This immediately made the bats restless, and they began to twist their bodies restlessly.

Seeing this scene, Henry did not dare to stop for a moment. He quickly quickened his pace and walked forward. Until he reached the end of the passage, the bats were just restless and did not fly down to attack.

This made him feel a little relieved, and he quickly turned to the passage on the other side. There were no bats hanging above, and the feeling of having a sword hanging over his head suddenly disappeared.

However, this passage is not so clean. There are some skeletons lying all over the passage. They look like the predecessors and monsters who had died here.

But when Henry got closer, he found that they had no backpacks or anything, only rusty swords and rotten shields.

The further he walked, the more frightened he became, because it seemed that a fight had taken place here. There were both monster skeletons and human skeletons, but relatively speaking there were more monster skeletons.

After carefully avoiding the skeletons, he continued walking deeper into the passage. He looked around from time to time, hoping to find something useful. The axe he carried was too short and it was too dangerous to use it to fight monsters.

After searching for a while, I found that these people did not seem to be from this era, but from a very ancient era, and they didn't even have hot weapons.

But judging from the age of these weapons, they don’t seem to be particularly old, but why don’t they have hot weapons ?

From the bones scattered all over the ground, he could imagine how these people had fought bravely against these monsters with swords and shields in hand. They were even stronger than the monsters.

This can be seen in the number of human and monster skeletons, but he doesn't understand how these people did it, is it genetic modification?

If he remembered correctly, those bionic people were the products of genetic modification. They were a combination of genetic modification and technological modification, and were half human and half machine.

But these skeletons do not show any signs of machine modification, so they may not be bionic people, or even genetically modified people, and their bones are not particularly thick.

Henry didn't know how they were so powerful, but even though they were so powerful, they still couldn't escape the fate of death because there were too many monsters, and there might even be monsters more powerful than them.

Even such a powerful person died here, so how could he go deeper? It seemed that reaching the end of the first level of the dungeon, finding the secret and escaping from here had become an impossible luxury.

Henry did not give up easily. Since some of his ancestors had walked out of here alive, he would certainly be able to do it too. Everything he did was to survive.

    Chapter 5 Crisis Everywhere

Henry picked up a long sword that was not too rusty, and then picked up a metal shield. Although the metal shield was not rotten like the wooden one, it was very heavy and a little difficult to hold.

After thinking about it, he put down the shield. If he couldn't use the shield flexibly, it would only become a burden and make it easier for him to be killed by the monster.

He continued to walk forward holding the rusty sword. After turning a few passages, there were fewer and fewer bones on the ground, and he could even occasionally see some grass growing out of the cracks in the bricks.

This made him a little excited, because the presence of grass meant there might be life. If there were animals or something, then the problem of food might be solved.

Although he was excited, Henry still moved forward carefully. When he saw the scene in front of him, he suppressed his excitement and looked around this garden-like place with caution.

This was a huge room with many trees, flowers and plants. If it weren't for the roof, he would have thought he was outside. The grass on the ground emitted a green fluorescence. Although it allowed people to see the surroundings clearly, it gave a gloomy feeling.

very center of the room there is a pool surrounded by a circle of stones with a statue standing in the middle.

The statue was an image of a demon with wings on its back, but its expression was solemn and dignified, as if it was not a demon but an angel.

Henry slowly approached the pool and made sure that no monsters came out of it. He felt a little relieved and then looked into the water.

The water is very clear and you can see the bottom at a glance. Some green algae are floating underneath, and above the algae are some red fish. The contrast looks very strong.

These fish are very beautiful, like the big red carp. They swim leisurely in the water, seeming very harmless and looking very delicious.

Brother Yu, I have no food to eat now, so I can only use you guys to fill my stomach. If you go to hell, don't tell this guy about me.

As he spoke, Henry glanced at the demon statue, but vaguely saw that the corners of the demon statue's mouth were slightly raised, as if it was mocking him.

The scene frightened him immediately and he quickly took a few steps back. When he looked at the demon again, he found that it was still solemn and dignified, as if he was hallucinating.

This place was full of weirdness, and he didn't dare to slack off at all. After a while , seeing that there was no movement of the devil statue, he slowly approached it again.

He stared at the demon statue for a while, and after making sure that there was no change, he looked into the pool. At this time, his stomach was already rumbling .

He hadn't eaten anything since he had a little bread yesterday, and now he had walked such a long way, so his stomach was naturally empty.

He first tentatively touched the water with his hand, and after making sure there was no problem, he took off his shoes, rolled up his trouser legs, and went into the pool.

The pool was not deep, only up to his knees, but the water was icy cold. He could still bear it when he first entered, but if he stayed there for a while longer, he would probably be frozen to death.

This made him not dare to waste any more time, so he waded through the water towards the fish . The fish seemed not to sense anyone approaching and continued to swim leisurely.

Henry slowly approached the fattest fish. This fish was at least as long as his forearm and looked very meaty. If he finished it, it should be enough to fill him up.

He slowly stretched out his hand, and when it got close to the water surface, he suddenly grabbed the red fish and caught it in his hand.

But after being caught, the red fish struggled desperately. The body of the fish was very smooth. He tried hard to catch it but it still slipped out of his hands. With a splash, the red fish fell back into the water.

Just when he was about to catch it again, the fish did not run away. Instead, it bit his calf, and the blood immediately dyed the pool red.

He cried out in pain and tried to tear the fish apart, but he saw other fish rushing towards him, each with their sharp teeth bared. He knew without thinking that anything bad was going to happen.

He was too busy trying to get the fish off his leg and waded back through the water. The blood dyed more of the water red.

Fortunately, he was not far from the edge of the pond, and the red fish were quite far away from him, so he jumped out of the pond before the fish rushed to him and was not bitten by them.

He didn't expect that the seemingly docile red fish was as ferocious as a piranha , and the one that was biting his leg had not let go and was even tearing it apart desperately.

Henry quickly pierced the red fish's body with his sword and cut off its head with force, but the fish head still held on to his calf tightly and refused to let go.

He had no choice but to cut the fish head in half again, and finally got the red fish down. He didn't expect that he was not injured when facing the skeletons or the zombies, but was bitten by a fish.

But there was no gauze to wrap the wound now, so he could only use the water in the sink to clean the wound, and then tear off a piece of his sleeve to wrap the wound.

Although the wound was not too deep, it bleed a lot, which made his face a little pale. It seemed that he could not move forward and had to stop and rest.

After treating the wound, he looked at the fish on the ground. The eyes on the fish's head were staring at him, as if it resented him for killing it.

This feeling made Henry feel a little creepy, so he picked up the fish head and threw it into the flowers. Out of sight, out of mind. Not seeing the dead fish eyes made him feel better.

Then he looked at the body of the fish. Although the fish was very ferocious, the meat still looked very white and tender. It seemed delicious and did not seem to be poisonous.

trying a small bite, I found that the meat was surprisingly delicious and had a slight taste of salt. I just don’t know why the fish in the pond would have a salty taste.

After waiting for a while and making sure that the fish was indeed not poisonous , he continued eating and soon finished the whole fish.

This fish is a bit strange. It is obviously a fish from a pond, but it has no bones like a deep-sea fish, as if someone caught it from the sea and put it here on purpose.

After eating, he leaned against the stone of the pool to rest. The injury on his leg made it impossible for him to walk. It was very painful when he walked and it began to bleed. He felt that he had encountered the first crisis in the dungeon.

If he can't solve the problem, let alone go deeper, if any monster comes, he may not be able to escape.

Just when Henry thought this was already a very bad situation, something even worse occurred. He suddenly felt a little dizzy and his vision began to blur.

He reached out and touched his forehead and found that it was very hot, as if he was sick. He didn't know if it was because of the infected wound or because of eating the fish.

At this moment he felt that he might die here. It seemed that only a few people could walk out of this dungeon. There were too many dangers in here and one could get caught if he was not careful.

Henry's consciousness became increasingly blurred. He felt that the surroundings were no longer green, but became colorful. The green was greener, the red was redder, and the colors of the whole world were very impactful.

At the same time, everything around him was getting bigger, the trees began to twist and become fierce, and the demon statue looked at him with a grin.

They were getting bigger and bigger, and were about to pierce through the roof. He wanted to escape, but found that he had no strength to stand up.

Henry vaguely felt that there were many twisted souls surrounding him. They stretched out many tentacles, as if they wanted to take him away, but he didn't want to be taken away.

He tried hard to lower his head, but saw many little people dancing in a circle on the ground. They were like elves in this world, wearing pointy hats and bright clothes.

At this moment, he felt his mouth and throat were extremely dry, as if he had not had water for a long, long time ...

    Chapter 6 Rain of Arrows

Henry's consciousness was very hazy at this time. His throat was about to smoke, so he instinctively turned over and lay down by the pool, drinking water in big gulps .

He didn't remember how much water he drank, but gradually he felt that he had lost the strength to swallow, then he slipped from the edge of the pool and lost consciousness.

It was unknown how long it took before he slowly opened his eyes. This was the second time he had fainted in this dungeon, and this time he was very lucky not to die.

After patting his head, he felt that nothing was wrong. This made him a little confused. Why was he fine after waking up, since he had such a violent reaction before?

If anything cured him, the only thing he did before falling into a coma was drinking a lot of water, so maybe it was the water that cured him.

But this was just his guess. He didn't have the courage or qualifications to try it again. What if it wasn't the water? He would be doomed if he got an upset stomach.

Henry stood up by the stone beside the pool, but found that his legs didn't seem to hurt anymore, so he quickly looked down.

There was still a cloth tied there, and the blood that had seeped out had dried up. He tried to move , and didn't feel any pain at all.

He pressed the wound and didn't feel any pain, which made him curious so he untied the cloth strip. Then he saw a healthy leg, a healthy leg without any wounds or problems.

Is it because of the fish? Or is it because of the water? Henry muttered to himself, but no matter what the reason, he was better and could move on.

checking that no parts were missing from his body , he walked deeper into the garden with confidence. What he didn't notice was that the demon statue behind him smiled cunningly again.

He did not dare to stay in the garden for too long, but walked into the passage at the end of the garden. The surrounding environment changed again, returning to its original dungeon appearance.

However, before I got far, I saw a skeleton staggering towards me. The difference was that this skeleton was holding a rusty sword and a rotten shield.

When Henry saw the skeleton, the skeleton also looked at him, and then ran towards him, much faster than the previous skeleton.

Seeing this, he immediately took the bow and arrow in his hand, pulled the bowstring and began to aim at the skull's head. When the skull was far away, he whispered, Weapon enhancement.

As a white light appeared on the bow, he loosened the bowstring, and the arrow instantly shot towards the skull's head. It pierced through the skull at such a close distance, and even the oxidized skull cracked .

The skeleton suddenly fell to the ground and then scattered into a pile of bones. It seemed that it would not be able to stand up again. This made him feel that weapon enhancement was quite useful.

Although the skeleton doesn't look too powerful, Henry still doesn't want to engage in close combat with it. Getting injured here is a hassle, so if he can solve the problem remotely, he will never engage in close combat.

After waiting for a while and seeing that the skeleton was indeed motionless, he stepped forward to pick up the arrow, then continued walking deeper into the passage.

But as soon as he turned the corner , arrows whizzed towards him, and he was so scared that he immediately retracted his head. The arrows almost flew past his nose.

He clearly saw that there were more than a dozen skeletons in the passage ahead, and each of these skeletons was holding a bow and arrow, all of them raising their bows and arrows high and aiming at this side.

Henry tried to show his head again, and sure enough, another wave of arrows flew over, and he was blocked here for a moment. Fortunately, those skeletons seemed to want to deal with him remotely, and none of them rushed over.

He took the bow and arrow in his hand, took a deep breath, and whispered, Strengthen the weapon. After he finished speaking, he quickly appeared from the corner, took aim, and immediately let go of his hand.

Just as he shot the arrow, a rain of arrows from the opposite skeleton came over again, forcing him to dodge again, and he didn't even know whether the arrow hit the skeleton or not.

Because of the aiming action, an arrow directly cut through his clothes and almost hit his stomach, making him break out in a cold sweat.

If he continued like this, he would never be able to kill all the skeletons. He would most likely be shot to death by arrows. After all, the skeletons' only weak points were their heads. It wouldn't matter if they were hit in other places, but he had weaknesses everywhere.

Just as he was thinking about what to do, he heard a rustling sound. It seemed that the skeletons were approaching this side. If these skeletons attacked together, they could strangle or bite him to death even in hand-to-hand combat.

This made Henry a little anxious. He picked up the bow and arrow again and used the weapon enhancement. After he showed his head, he didn't even aim and immediately let go.

At this time, the skeletons had come a little closer, and he was very lucky to shoot through a skeleton's head, but even so, there were still more than a dozen skeletons. Even if he was an archer, it would be difficult to kill them all, not to mention that he was not an archer.

What was even worse was that he suddenly felt a sense of fatigue, as if it was caused by using weapon enhancement too many times in a short period of time. It seemed that this ability could not be used infinitely, and he could not bear it after using it three times in a row.

This situation was simply making the situation worse. He now had only one solution, which was to throw away the grenade he had picked up. However, this was his only trump card. What if he threw it now and then encountered a monster?

Just as he was hesitating with the grenade in his hand, he heard a loud noise again. It seemed that the skeletons were starting to move towards this side again.

After he stretched his head to take a look, he saw another rain of arrows falling, but this time he finally made up his mind to use grenades, because he not only saw skeletons, but also a pale ghost floating above their heads!

Even after experiencing several shocks, Henry was still scared to death. The ghost was translucent, and its eyes were completely white, with an extremely distorted and painful expression.

This horrifying sight almost made him lose his mind. He suddenly pulled off the ring of the grenade and threw it at the skeletons with a roar.

He was responded with another rain of arrows and even the ghost's shrill screams. The screams gave him a splitting headache, as if someone was messing with something in his head.

But soon another sound drowned out the scream, and a loud explosion reached Henry's ears, instantly bringing him back from the pain, and the scream stopped abruptly with the explosion.

Then there was a crackling sound, which was the sound of the skeleton being blown away and hitting the wall, and even a lot of bones flew past his eyes.

After a moment, the entire passage was deathly silent, as if there were no skeletons, ghosts, and grenades just now, and everything returned to calm.

Henry calmed down a bit and slowly stuck his head out from the corner. He saw that there was no skeleton standing in the passage over there. There were only bones all over the ground, and many of them were broken.

The ghost was nowhere to be found , and he didn't know if it was blown to ashes. But no matter what happened to the ghost, he would feel at ease as long as it didn't appear again.

Looking at the dark marks on the ground, Henry discovered that the power of the grenade had not diminished due to the passage of time, and it had not exploded in his hand, which made him extremely grateful.

After resting for a while and recovering some of his strength, he walked towards the bones scattered on the ground. This time the arrows should be enough.

Henry didn't bring too many arrows, he just filled a pot
