wilight it was! The tranquil ambience of her balcony and a moment of quiet reflections! Yes! Finally her dream came true, the dream that she had cherished from her childhood! The whispering vendetta against those who spoilt her family life had invigorated her determination to mete out punishment to the culprits. The goal had been achieved, Shilpa felt euphoric, with a heightened sense of satisfaction, a surge of enthusiasm and energy, or a feeling of being on top of the world.
Shilpa was enjoying the cool breeze, cradling a steaming cup of tea in her hands, after the heavy downpour. Wisps of steam like her curly hair, rose delicately from the cup, the aroma enhanced, mixing the earthly scent of the wet soil. The warm sunlight embraced her. Its gentle shadows danced across her sharp features, illuminating the subtle contemplation that reflected in her eyes. The droplets woke up delicately on the leaves. They glistened like precious jewels in the soft sunlight as if breaking through the dissipating clouds. The blades of grass were parched and weary. They stood tall and vibrant after the shimmering raindrops supported them, quenching their thirst and reviving their verdant splendour. The soft rustle of leaves and the far-off chirping of birds provided a soothing soundtrack to Shilpa’s solitude. She plunged into the simple pleasure of this tranquil moment, finding solace and serenity in the delicate balance of tea and introspection.
It had all begun with a determination when she lost her Papa. She couldn’t forget the incidents that led to the most horrific experiences she had to deal with. From that very day she fought to bring the offenders to justice intensified, fuelled by the resolute commitment to shield those silenced by adversity.
The dimly lit conference room of the crime investigation department had been an witness to Inspector Shilpa Sen’s tenacity and perseverance. With her sharp mind and keen intuition, she broke the barriers of a male dominated world. Clad in her uniform, she earned a lot of respect from her authority and colleagues. Her presence in the force inspired the women-folks to aspire for law enforcement, proving that gender can’t be an obstacle to success. She used to sit engrossed in the files of daunting cases. The investigation into a fake drug trafficking and a suspected child abuse ring had consumed her thoughts and energy for months. The cases that shrouded the darkness of the innocent victims had pushed her to the brink of exhaustion.
One of the cases started with a single tip-off—a sudden phone call to Sumana Das, a pretty young woman in her forties. Destiny played its role and her husband, a tall handsome young man in his late forties, met with an accident decades ago that snatched away most comforts of his life. Then she had to join the administrative sector of a renowned educational institution of Kolkata. Their only child Triparna, naturally, was the apple of her eyes. However, in the short span of her life,Triparna had seen many things that made her more mature than any other girl of her age. She was an adorable child, especially for her Papa with whom she shared everything. It was the Monday morning, hectic with the rushing footsteps and hurried greetings, keyboards clicking and coffee cups clinking, when she received the call.
Hello! I am CBI commissioner. Am I speaking to Mrs.Das?
Yes
!Sumana was completely taken aback after hearing the next sentences.
"Do you know anything about your daughter, Triparna? She hired a cab. That cab was carrying twenty kilos of cocaine. So your daughter has been arrested as she was sitting in the same car. If you wish
