    Captive Humanity - Lauren Brown

    Chapter 3 Hunting survivors

This wire was prepared by him a long time ago, and with his current strength, it would still be a bit difficult if he wanted to forcefully break into the door.

After all, the quality of Chinese manufacturing is not blown out of proportion.

And lock picking is a skill that was a must for almost everyone in a previous life.

This seemingly insignificant object is used in home invasions, lock picking, burglaries and more.

Inserted the wire into the lock hole, gently twisted, not long, with a click of a light sound, the security door was easily opened by him.

Opening the door and stepping inside, the room was pitch black, but it didn't bother him in the slightest.

With the zombie's keen sense of smell, he knew that there was the scent of a living person in the house.

The eyes scanned the room and, eventually, locked onto a closed bedroom door.

Through this door he heard ragged gasps from within.

Wang Jun took one step toward the bedroom, and he could already feel the person behind the door trembling in fear.

Inserting the wire into the lock hole and twisting it slowly, Wang Jun walked in.

In the darkness, a cold light suddenly came at him, and Wang Jun directly side-stepped to avoid it.

He had anticipated that the people in the room would come up with such a trick, it was all just a little trick that he was used to in his previous life, so he wasn't panicked at all.

Fixing his eyes, in the darkness, he saw a woman with messy hair looking at himself warily with a kitchen knife in her hand.

    Who!?

The woman's trembling voice revealed her mental state at that moment.

Facing the woman's questioning, Wang Jun licked the corner of his mouth and let out a low growl.

At the sound of the low growl, the woman's eyes widened in horror.

    Mourning...zombies!!!

    AHHHH!!!

    ......

Walking out of the house, Wang Jun gently brought the security door closed and reached out to wipe away the blood and meat residue that remained at the corners of his mouth.

Following the zombie's law, hunting humans for the first time was not as uncomfortable as Wang Jun had imagined, he instead adapted very quickly, which was probably also due to the brutality in the zombie's bones.

It's just eating people. People eat livestock, walkers eat people, it's all a cycle.

And it's not uncommon for people to eat people in the end times, and in the early days, some of those who were greedy for life did so when they couldn't stand the hunger.

They don't dare to take food from the mouth of the zombies, so they will naturally swing their knives at their own kind who they think are harmless, as long as they can keep themselves alive in this post-apocalyptic world, what are the moral shackles.

Individual heroists in novels as well as in movies and TV dramas never appear in reality.

And apocalyptic, represents never two adjectives.

Just pity the woman in the house, I'm afraid she won't understand until she dies how Wang Jun ran into the house.

Looking at his attribute panel, he only saw that the evolution value on it had grown by one point.

With his eyes on the darkened hallway, Wang Jun lifted his feet and continued walking towards the upper floors.

All the way to the twelfth floor, Wang Jun stopped once again.

Because there are two walkers prowling in front of the target's door.

They also find the survivors behind the door, but with their questionable intelligence they don't know how to open the security door to eat the humans inside.

Seeing Wang Jun's arrival, the two zombies merely glanced at him before turning their heads once again and continued to guard in front of the security door.

In their eyes, Wang Jun was nothing more than a nonexistent kindred spirit, and the reason he came here was perhaps because he had discovered the scent of a living person here and wanted to come and get a piece of the action.

Wang Jun looked at them and did not have any extra thoughts, enthusiastically pulling the two zombies to the building.

Opening the window, Wang Jun threw one of the zombies down the window without saying a word.

Two seconds passed. With a muffled thud, it drew a crowd of several walkers wandering downstairs.

His eyes once again looked at the other zombie, and in the other party's eyes filled with doubt, Wang Jun threw it down.

Got lucky this time and smashed two walkers that were making their way downstairs.

Back in front of the security door, Wang Jun used the wire to open the lock as usual.

Upon entering the room he saw a small boy hiding behind the couch.

And in the whole house, there was no one else to be seen but this little boy.

The boy didn't dare to say anything even after he saw Wang Jun. He covered his mouth with both hands and bean-sized tears kept coming out of his eyes.

The weak body was trembling violently in fear, and even then, he didn't dare to make the slightest sound.

Seeing this scene, Wang Jun sighed in his heart.

He couldn't imagine how the young boy, who appeared to be in his late teens, had survived those three dark days without his parents.

Guess it shouldn't be very lucky.

Although Wang Jun has some sympathy, the end times are the end times, and his own evolution is imminent, so if you want to blame it, blame it on the fact that you were born in a dark era.

All he could do was let the boy die painlessly.

Thinking that, Wang Jun walked towards the boy and his shark-like sharp teeth snapped his neck in one bite.

Time passed by, and as his evolution value grew a little bit more Wang Jun left the house and started walking towards the floor where the next survivor was.

The night faded and as the first rays of the morning sun rose Wang Jun stepped out from behind a door.

His originally clean clothes had been soaked in blood and stained with shredded flesh, and although he didn't feel any discomfort, psychologically, he was still a bit unable to accept it.

Looking at his evolution value, he had reached seven points, and was only three evolution points away from evolving.

But after one night, the few remaining survivors of the floor he was on had been slaughtered by him.

He could only leave the building and look for other places where there might be survivors to make up those three points of evolutionary value.

It's all because of those brainless zombies, or else I would have already finished evolving!

During the night, two of the survivor homes were overrun by other walkers, and by the time he got there, the survivors inside were being split up between several heads.

Wang Jun walked towards the stairs, cursing the food-grabbing zombies in his mind.

After casually finding a clean outfit, Wang Jun came downstairs and squinted at the blazing sun overhead.

The blazing sun was uncomfortable for him, and one by one the zombies that had been roaming the streets retreated back inside, looking for shady places to hide from the sun.

Wang Jun was no exception, looking at a building and running over.

When he came into the building, the shade suddenly cleared the boredom from his mind.

I'm afraid the survivors in this neighborhood are going to be drastically reduced again as the night passes.

Wang Jun cursed in his heart and sniffed hard to find any survivors that might still exist in this building.

    First floor, no!

Aside from that putrid smell from the zombies and the lingering smell of blood around them, there was no scent of the living at all.

Come to the second floor, still nothing.

    Third floor!

Fourth Floor, Fifth Floor, Sixth Floor ......

Gradually, Wang Jun's mood became a bit anxious.

He took big steps toward the stairs.

The sound of heavy footsteps drew the walkers in the building to look at him.

When he came to the tenth floor Wang Jun had an extra steel pipe in his hand.

    He picked this up downstairs.

The few zombies wandering around the tenth floor looked at this fellow with a steel pipe in his hand in front of them, and although they were a bit puzzled, they didn't do anything else.

However, Wang Jun was grinning at the sight of the group of zombies, revealing rows of sharp teeth, and immediately afterward, he rushed up with a steel pipe.

He was in an inexplicably irritable mood, so he needed a break to vent.

Unfortunately, the zombies in the building became the object of his wrath.

    Chapter 4: So Close

The steel pipe whistled and slammed into the head of a walker.

Only to see that the zombie's brain was instantly dented with a piece.

Black-green liquid accompanied by brain matter splattered everywhere, and the zombie collapsed without a word.

And his companion instantly roared at Wang Jun.

Wang Jun's eyes turned cold as he ruthlessly plunged the steel pipe in his hand into the mouth of the zombie that was roaring at him.

The sheer force of the pipe sent it through the walker's mouth and out the back of his head.

Pulling out the steel pipe, Wang Jun once again swung it to smash the other zombies watching the battle.

Soon, the hallway on the tenth floor was already filled with zombie corpses, sprawled out and miserably dead.

Looking at the steel pipe in his hand, Wang Jun was surprised to find that it was still intact, and apart from the surface losing a bit of paint, there was no denting bending or anything like that.

Made in China, it's really tough enough.

Wang Jun sighed as he once again continued walking towards the upper floors.

The sound of the previous fight had attracted the zombies upstairs, but after seeing that it was one of their own kind they resumed their wandering ways.

At this time, the number of zombies gathered in the hallway of the eleventh floor was no less than thirty, densely packed, squeezing the entire hallway.

Meanwhile, the walkers downstairs are making their way up, trying to get in on the action as well.

Looking at the corpses blocking in front of him Wang Jun was furious and directly dragged the hair of the two zombies to the hallway and threw them through the window.

Next, the muffled sounds of thumping were endless, echoing throughout the streets as one zombie after another was thrown down from the tenth floor by Wang Jun.

The zombies that came from downstairs to join in the fun weren't spared, and none of them could escape.

As Wang Jun threw the last zombie down the stairs, the roar of a zombie could no longer be heard in the entire building.

Looking at the upper floors, Wang Jun suddenly didn't want to go up.

He didn't realize that no less than thirty zombies existed upstairs, and it was impossible for an ordinary survivor to survive on a floor where thirty zombies existed.

In the early days of the end times, this was a pipe dream.

It was probably a waste of effort to go up there, although he wouldn't feel tired either.

Thinking of this, Wang Jun shook his head and prepared to go out and look for any more survivors in the other buildings.

    Zip...

Suddenly, a small sound reached his ears.

Wang Jun jerked his head up toward the upstairs.

"It's the current of the radio, is there someone else up there?

He was sure he had heard correctly, there had indeed been a sound just now.

Though the voice was only loud for a second before it disappeared, he did hear it.

After thinking about it, Wang Jun groped his way towards the upstairs following the sound that had just rung out.

If there were indeed survivors upstairs, it would be quite a surprise for him.

Soon he stopped on the fourteenth floor.

The source of the sound was just on this floor.

Looking at the closed security door in front of him, Wang Jun reached out and gently snapped the door.

Listening with ears open, the building was so quiet at this point that a pin dropped on the floor could be heard.

Immediately afterward, Wang Jun vaguely heard subtle footsteps coming from behind the door.

The footsteps were so soft that he wouldn't have heard any movement if it weren't for his powerful hearing from the walkers.

There really was someone inside the house, and the other person was coming this way.

    Wang Jun raised an eyebrow.

I'm afraid the people in the house are not simple if they can survive several nights in peace from a zombie-infested building.

After thinking about it, Wang Jun gripped the steel pipe in his hand and took out the wire and inserted it into the lock hole.

In his previous life, he had escaped death countless times in the midst of the post-apocalyptic world, and he had relied on more than just luck, but also from his strength.

Moreover, his current zombie body was even stronger than a human's in all aspects, so no matter what the identity of the person in the house was, as long as they were not evolved, Wang Jun had the confidence to crush the other party.

With a soft click, Wang Jun was just about to open the door when he saw that the security door was instantly pulled from the inside.

The opponent's strength was so great that it was even on the verge of rivaling that of a zombie.

Seeing this, Wang Jun frowned and thrust the steel pipe in his hand through the doorway.

Now the other guy couldn't even close the door if he wanted to.

The force that had been pulling inward disappeared instantly as the steel pipe plunged into the doorway.

Obviously, the other party also knew that it was impossible to close the door again at this point in this situation.

Seeing this, Wang Jun grinned and pulled the security door open as he walked in.

There was a man holding a kitchen knife in the narrow aisle, wearing a black short-sleeved top and well-defined muscles on his arms.

However, his originally wary expression became incomparably horrified the moment he saw Wang Jun.

    Walkers!?

He didn't understand how the walker could pick the lock and cleverly use the steel pipe in his hand to jam the doorway.

    Well...

At that moment, there was a sudden movement from the inner room.

Wang Jun slightly sidestepped his head and looked in the direction of the source of the sound.

Apparently there were other people in this house besides the man in front of him.

Thinking of this, Wang Jun was instantly excited, and evolution was expected!

It seems that God has not failed him after all.

Just then, a sharp blade came towards his neck.

Wang Jun instinctively took a step backward to avoid the knife.

The man's face, on the other hand, instantly changed, the zombie in front of him would dodge his own attack!

    This is simply unheard of!

Returning to his senses, Wang Jun looked at the man in front of him who dared to attack him and revealed a cruel smile.

Immediately afterward, he wheeled the pipe and swung it.

The man tried to raise the knife in his hand to block it as he watched the whistling steel pipe, but the moment it made contact his face became incredibly ugly.

The tremendous force caused his sword to fly straight out, and even his own arm became powerless.

Wang Jun wasn't in a hurry, he backhanded the security door shut and took a step towards the man.

    Wait!

The man looked at Wang Jun and shouted as he retreated.

Are you able to understand me?

Hearing these words, Wang Jun raised his eyebrows and couldn't help but stop his steps, looking at the man with an odd expression on his face.

That's a pretty sharp observation for a man.

Seeing that Wang Jun had really stopped, a flash of shock appeared on the man's face.

Still, he forced himself to calm down and said.

Now that the end times are upon us, I think it's even more important for everyone to embrace the warmth of the group instead of killing each other!

Well at least you were human before, even though you've turned into this now, you're not like those zombies, you can understand me, so you're a human too!

We are all compatriots, believe me, the country will soon organize an army to come to the rescue, and when that time comes, I will pay for it, and I will definitely cure you, so that you can return to human society again ......

Hearing the man's words, a trace of impatience flashed across Wang Jun's face.

But apparently, this man was afraid that he hadn't really realized the true cruelty of this post-apocalyptic world.

If the apocalypse had only turned people into zombies, the power of the state would have shown its strength, but it was not to be.

It won't be long before the world is in an evolutionary frenzy,!

A zombie evolved to the second stage can already withstand the power of ordinary firearms, zombies above the third stage are even less afraid of thermal weapons, and at the fourth stage, grenades can be eaten as candy beans.

And it's not just zombies, there are also alien beasts, and the terror of alien beasts is not something ordinary people can imagine.

When tens of meters high giant apes as well as hundred meters long giant pythons appear in front of human beings, human beings will realize how small they are.

The steel pipe tapped gently on the floor, the crisp sound echoing through the room.

The man's face changed when he saw this, and then he violently rushed to the inner bedroom and shouted, Xin'er, quickly take your daughter and run!!!

As he spoke, the man took a step to Wang Jun and hugged him dead center.

At this moment, this man was determined to die, and he was determined to hold off Wang Jun and fight for a ray of hope for the people in the house.

He was willing to give his life as a price to keep his wife and daughter alive.

Looking at the man hugging him, Wang Jun frowned.

Immediately afterward he reached down and squeezed the man's neck.

Five fingers pressed hard, and the nails dug deep into the man's neck.

Wang Jun then directly inserted into his spine and pinched it with force, and with a click, the man suddenly stared blankly and fell helplessly to the ground.

His spine was crushed hard by Wang Jun!

    Ah!!!

    A scream suddenly rang out.

Wang Jun looked up and saw that the bedroom door had been opened at some point.

A woman was standing frozen looking over her shoulder.

Her face was haggard and tears had covered her cheeks.

You fucking monster! I'll kill you!!!

Before the words were out of his mouth, the woman came at him with her fists swinging.

Wang Jun was expressionless as he kicked the body of the man at his feet to the side and immediately raised the steel pipe in his hand.

    Bang!

    A muffled sound.

Running, the woman fell straight to the ground.

A stream of blood immediately soared out.

Bright red blood covered her entire cheeks instead of tears.

But even in death, her eyes didn't close, still glaring viciously in Wang Jun's direction.

After doing this, Wang Jun didn't care about them, but quickly came to the bedroom.

The bedroom was empty at this point.

As if he had thought of something, Wang Jun took a step to the window.

All that could be seen was a seven or eight year old girl climbing on the downspout on the outside of the building.

The girl's face was pale and she was carefully climbing down the sewer pipe.

Just then, the girl suddenly raised her head just in time to meet Wang Jun's hideous face.

    Ah!

The girl let out a scream, her hand slipped, and her hold on the pipe came right off, falling straight down towards the floor.

Two seconds later, there was a muffled thud from the bottom of the building.

At the height of fourteen floors, the girl fell into a puddle of flesh and mud, crimson blood flowed out, attracting a large number of surrounding zombies to engulf the girl's body.

Looking at the scene downstairs, Wang Jun's face darkened a bit.

    It was close, again.

He felt that his luck was simply bad.

Helplessly, Wang Jun could only pull a face and return to the living room, heading in the direction of the remaining two corpses.

Chapter 5 Evolution! First-order Alienation Ability

Congratulations to the host for reaching the evolution condition!

    Does it begin to evolve?

Wang Jun, who had just finished devouring two corpses, suddenly froze when he heard the beeps coming from his mind.

System, are you sure you did the math right?

Wang Jun was in a bit of disbelief.

Didn't he remember that he was three points short of the evolution value?

How is it that he fulfills the evolutionary conditions after just devouring two people?

During the process of your devouring, one human's vitality was much stronger than a normal human's, so the system counted it as two points of evolutionary value!

    The system gives its answer.

Hearing this, Wang Jun instantly thought of the man who had just been there.

The other party's qi and blood was indeed stronger than a normal person's, and the taste of the meat was also much better than others.

Thinking of the girl who just fell off the building, the original resentment in Wang Jun's heart was suddenly swept away.

    Does it begin to evolve?

    The system prompt came again.

    Yes!

Even though he tried his best to restrain himself, he couldn't help the excitement and thrill in his tone.

As the words fell, a wave of energy suddenly appeared within the body.

The energy was warm and was washing over his body.

As this energy entered his body, Wang Jun was able to clearly feel that his power was gradually increasing.

Not only that, but one's sense of smell, hearing, and sight, were all growing stronger.

Ten minutes later, just as Wang Jun was still enjoying his power getting stronger, the system prompt suddenly sounded.

Congratulations to the host for completing evolution! The current strength is of the first rank!

As the system's voice fell, the energy instantly disappeared.

Wang Jun opened his eyes and carefully felt his body.

Apart from his sense of smell and hearing, his power had even changed drastically compared to before.

Nowadays, he felt like he could hammer three of his previous selves to death with one punch.

Moreover, the defense has been greatly enhanced.

In order to verify this idea, Wang Jun picked up the kitchen knife that had fallen on the ground earlier and slashed hard on his arm.

Only a white mark appeared on the arm, not even scratching the flesh.

Just then, Wang Jun seemed to remember something.

By the way system, what is my alienation ability?

Please check it out for yourself, host!

As the words fell, his own attribute panel appeared before his eyes.

    Host:Wang Jun

    Race: Zombie

    Evolution value:0/100

    Level:First Order

    Alienation ability: [Devour]

As he evolved to the first stage, the original ten points of evolution value required had become one hundred points, which also meant that he would need to devour one hundred ordinary humans if he wanted to evolve to the second stage.

The path of evolution is a long way to go, and one needs to continue to work hard.

Wang Jun sighed in his heart and thought secretly.

Looking at his alienated ability, he saw the word Devour appear on it.

At the same time, an explanation of this alienated ability appeared in the mind.

After a moment of trance, Wang Jun instantly understood this ability.

As the name suggests, this alienation ability could greatly increase the efficiency of one's devouring.

Previously, he had taken about more than an hour to devour a human on his own, and with this ability, the time it took him to devour flesh and blood would be greatly shortened.

Moreover, this ability becomes more powerful as one evolves.

Not only that, but you can also use this ability to recover if you are accidentally injured.

The corner of Wang Jun's mouth grinned as he directly used his alienation ability and devoured!

Only to see his palm suddenly crack open a slit, and in the next second, a mouth covered in sharp teeth appeared in the center of his palm.

Densely packed sharp teeth circled around in a circle, looking incredibly bizarre, making people's hair stand on end in sweat and chills just by looking at them.

Wang Jun once again waved the kitchen knife to cut on his arm, this time he had the strength, and finally left a wound on his arm.

Looking at the wound on his arm, Wang Jun attached his palm to the mangled body on the ground.

Only to see that the originally full chunks of meat actually became dried up at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Moreover, Wang Jun could clearly feel a wave of energy transformed into blood and flesh entering his body along the palm of his hand, silently nourishing his body.

As the last trace of nutrients from the corpse was sucked clean, the upper wound on the arm that he had originally cut out became intact.

Watching this scene, Wang Jun's heart became more and more excited ......

    ......

Around the corner, dozens of people had gathered in the cubicles of a large supermarket, led by an obese middle-aged man in a black suit.

He was seen sitting on a chair, his eyes fierce, and he was nibbling a piece of bread in his mouth, next to a freshly opened bottle of mineral water.

Behind him in his backpack was a lot of unopened food as well as bottled water.

And around the man in the suit, there were eight or nine people who were looking blearily at the bread in the obese man's hands, swallowing their saliva non-stop.

They had been starving for two whole days, but even so, but they still didn't dare to grab the man's food because the man in the suit had a gun in his hand.

They remembered that just a day earlier a man who was so hungry that he couldn't stand it anymore went to grab his food, only to be shot dead by the man.

Then dragged right out in front of them and fed them to the walkers.

They still can't forget the image of dozens of zombies frantically devouring corpses.

As the crowd watched, the man in the suit finished the food in his hand, carefully sucking on each finger, followed by a gulp of the mineral water next to him.

Looking at the crowd of people who were eyeing him in the distance but didn't dare to approach, the man in the suit laughed somewhat contemptuously, and then pulled out a bottle of water from the backpack behind him.

He unscrewed the cap from the bottle as the crowd looked on eagerly and poured the water slowly onto the floor.

Seeing this scene, the crowd's eyes went straight, but they dared not say anything.

Seeing the embarrassment of the crowd, the man in the suit seemed to be very satisfied as he laughed and threw the water bottle, which he hadn't had time to finish pouring the water out of, on the ground not far from him.

The mineral water bottle he threw away, on the other hand, drew a scramble from everyone because, inside, there was still a sip of water left.

And just as the crowd was fighting over the only remaining sip of water, the man in the suit stood up.

Hungry? Want some water? I have plenty more here.

The crowd didn't answer, but the longing in their eyes showed through.

Looking at this scene, the man in the suit reached out and pointed at the two youths in the crowd and said.

    You two, come here!

The two men who had been pointed out approached with some trepidation.

    Big brother, you called me?

The two men were a little too scared to look at the man in the suit, after all, he didn't know if the man in front of him would casually reward him with a peanut rice.

The man in the suit patted the two on the shoulder and smiled, Don't be afraid.

He then took out a loaf of bread from his backpack in front of the crowd, as well as a bottle of mineral water and handed it to them.

The two froze and caught the food in their hands, somewhat unsure.

    Big Brother ......

    Eat.

The man in the suit chuckled.

    Really?

    Really.

Hearing the affirmation from the man in the suit, the two hungry men couldn't hold back their cravings any longer and tore open the package and took a big bite.

At this moment, they felt that at this time, even if the man in the suit shot them, they would not regret it, and even if they died, they would still be a satiated dead.

The man in the suit glanced at the two men, then looked around at the people.

Right now, we're stuck in this this place, and we're running low on food, so I need one of you to go find food.

The man in the suit carried a commanding tone as he spoke towards the crowd.

    By what right!

Just! There are so many zombies out there, you want us to die!?

Don't you have a gun, why don't you go!?

No go! Whoever wants to go, goes!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'd rather starve to death here than fall into zombie food!

The crowd opened their mouths and complained about the dissatisfaction in their hearts.

They thought that casually going out in the zombie-ridden post-apocalyptic world was no different from hitting a lamp in a thatched pit - looking for shit.

Chapter 6: The Northern Suburbs of Luocheng

Listening to the complaints of the crowd, a cold smile curled out of the corner of the man in the suit's mouth.

He patted the two youths who had just been there and reached out to point to the one in the crowd who had just screamed the loudest and said.

    Know what I mean?

The two froze, then revealed a cruel smile and walked quickly towards the man.

    What do you want!

Aigoo, stop hitting, I'm sorry I'm sorry!

When the crowd saw this scene, they hurriedly tried to go up and pull the fight.

What for! What for! Why are you hitting people!

    Stop it, stop fighting!

    Bang!

    The gun went off.

It echoed throughout the cubicle for a long time.

The crowd stopped in their tracks and turned their heads to look at the man in the suit with fear in their eyes.

Aiming his pistol at the crowd, the man in the suit sneered, Did you guys not understand what I meant?

    The crowd dared not speak.

    Boss!

Two youths came to the man in the suit, and in their hands, they were still holding a young man who had been beaten up.

Seeing this, the man in the suit sneered and pressed the muzzle of his gun against the head of the youth who had just been beaten and bruised.

Were you the one who screamed the loudest just now?

Big... big brother, I was wrong, spare my life ......

The youth flung himself directly onto his knees.

With a gun to his head, his voice was shaking at this point as he spoke.

    Spare your life?

    Yeah!

The man in the suit removed the muzzle of his gun from the youth's head and smiled.

    Thank you big brother! Thank...thank...

    Bang!

Before the youth could finish his words of thanks, a hole appeared in his forehead.

    You're welcome!

The man in the suit put his pistol away and spoke faintly.

Looking up at the crowd, the man in the suit smiled.

And you can't blame me for the fact that the world has changed.

The crowd knew that he was setting an example, and they did not dare to make a sound, fearing that they would become a standout and be shot.

Seeing this, the man in the suit smiled and looked at the two youths and said, What are your two names?

    Zhang Ling!

    Li Shuhao!

Very well, later, you two pick me a few people out of these to go out and look for food.

You two get 10% of the food you recover!

When the two of them heard this, their faces immediately showed joy.

Seeing this, the man in the suit wiped the gun in his hand and said carelessly, But if I find out that you're hiding it, or letting people get away ......

The two heard this and quickly smiled and assured their loyalty: Don't worry boss, surely won't ......

    ......

    Zip ......

Wang Jun was tinkering with a radio in his hand.

It was found in the house, and it had been the sound of the electric current he had heard downstairs earlier that had made the As he tuned the channel in, a voice came over the radio.

This is the northern outskirts of L.A. After our efforts, we have initially established a survivor sanctuary, and survivors who are fortunate enough to hear this broadcast may seek refuge in the northern outskirts of L.A.

Here, we have a strong army, and plenty of food, you and your family have absolutely nothing to worry about from walkers ......

Repeat, this is the northern suburb of L.A. We ......

    Bang!

Before the words left his mouth, Wang Jun smashed the radio into smithereens with a steel pipe.

    Northern Suburbs of L.A. ......

Repeating the name of this gathering place silently in his heart, Wang Jun's eyes flashed with a strange light.

He planned that he would make a trip to the northern outskirts of Luo City once he reached the third rank.

A gathering of survivors thought it would be a step up in their own power.

With his current strength he wasn't strong enough to single-handedly take on the entire Survivor Gathering.

He still knew the truth that greed is not enough to swallow an elephant.

Although his strength had now been significantly improved, he was ultimately unable to resist against the powerful thermal weapons.

After glancing at the evolution value he needed to evolve to the second stage, Wang Jun walked out of the house.

Next he'll have to speed up his search for survivors.

In the course of the morning, he once again found two unlucky men hiding in the nook.

These two people also added a bit of color to Wang Jun.

After all, the evolution value he needed to evolve to the second stage now was as high as one hundred points.

Next, Wang Jun arrived in a supermarket and carefully searched for survivors.

The zombies along the way saw him and avoided him.

This is the feeling of oppression that comes from the higher ranked walkers to the lower ranked walkers.

The zombie was able to tell the difference between a high-ranking zombie and an ordinary zombie, so there was no ungrateful one who came to offend his brow.

As he was walking, suddenly Wang Jun felt something grab his ankle.

Looking down, he saw that a walker with the lower half of its body missing was grabbing his foot with one hand and opening its mouth to bite.

Wang Jun frowned as the steel pipe swung down.

With a bang, the zombie's head was directly smashed.

For ordinary zombies, Wang Jun, who had already become a first-order zombie, had no trouble killing them.

After resolving this ungrateful zombie, Wang Jun looked around.

Taking a look at the food thrown randomly scattered on the floor, which was incredibly precious to ordinary people, he shook his head and left this supermarket.

Coming to the street, his original own aversion to sunlight had become minimal since he had evolved to the First Order.

For the rest of the day, Wang Jun walked aimlessly through the streets.

He wondered what place had the most people.

But after thinking about it, besides the neighborhood, the hospital, that's the school.

But the interior of the neighborhood is so spread out that finding survivors is a no-brainer and too time-consuming.

Hospitals, if you will, are indeed a good place to go, densely populated and with very high foot traffic, but one thing is that after a zombie outbreak in a hospital, it is simply difficult for ordinary people to escape.

Now the end of the world has already broken out for four whole days, now I'm afraid that in addition to the zombies in the hospital can't even see the shadow of the survivors.

After thinking about it, Wang Jun found a supermarket and slipped away a local city map from it.

He already had plans in mind.

    Go to school!

Although there are many people in the school, the terrain is complicated, and ordinary people still have the ability to hide in the face of zombies.

Looking at the map in his hand, there was a school thirty kilometers away from here.

    It's also the closest school.

Although four days had now passed since the end of the world, tens of thousands of people in a school should be able to survive a group of people any longer.

And with just the contributions of this group, he could evolve to the second order!

As he was thinking, a sudden voice resounded through the streets.

    Ow!

The voice was long, as if it were a wolf's howl, and it was extremely penetrating.

Wang Jun jerked his head up towards the place where the sound came from.

    First Order Fae!

The sound was coming from another street.

I didn't realize that only four days after the end of the world there was a first-ranked foreign beast, and it was a wolf?

Wang Jun thought with some surprise in his heart.

Compared to humans and zombies, Fae seem to be more like the favorites of this post-apocalyptic world.

They don't need the sustenance of flesh and blood to evolve, they just need to quietly bide their time.

    Natural Evolution!

And the rate of evolution is not at all slower than that of zombies and humans.

There was a sudden clamor of footsteps around them.

As Wang Jun looked over, he saw a head of zombies come out of the shadows and begin to start running in groups towards the direction of the wolf's howl.

They were attracted to the blood and flesh of the first-order foreign beasts.

To them, as long as they ate the blood and flesh of this foreign beast, they would be able to directly evolve.

Evolution had caused the corpses to go completely mad and agitated.

Chapter 7 - Divine Beast Species! Fire-breathing Erha

In just a moment's time, several hundred zombies had already begun to run in the direction of the source of the sound.

The scene was spectacular and massive.

Wang Jun trailed behind the tide of corpses and also followed towards the place where the wolves were howling.

    ......

In the room, Wang Jun narrowed his eyes as he looked at the tall figure in the distance.

Earlier, when he heard the sound of a wolf howling, he thought it was a fey wolf, but he didn't expect to actually witness its stance he realized that he was still thinking too simply.

On the street, an abandoned bus is standing on a three meter tall ...... husky!

The opponent's body was as tall as a one-story building.

Black and white fur with shiny, oily skin and a pair of blue, beady eyes.

Looking at the surrounding tide of corpses swarming towards him it didn't have the slightest fear.

Instead, the dog's face had a look of mastery on it.

    Ow!

The husky once again looked up to the sky, revealing a touch of disdainful aura all over his body.

And around the abandoned bus, no less than a few hundred zombies had already gathered, and the number was still increasing.

The blood and flesh of a first-rank foreign beast, I wonder how much evolution value it can bring me.

Wang Jun had already planned to hunt this husky in his heart, but he didn't make a sudden move, instead, he was quietly waiting for the right moment.

Although it was only the first rank, Wang Jun knew that the other party was not as easy to kill as it appeared on the surface.

With a body as tall as three meters, a mere slap could cause an ordinary zombie to hold a grudge.

But the ants have bitten the elephant.

A small number of zombies may not be able to resist, but a larger number will still cause problems for the other side.

The zombies piled up in one piece at this moment, in dense numbers, and had surrounded the vicinity of the bus.

A zombie was the first to climb onto the roof of the car, but before he could stand up he saw a huge slap come down.

The husky slapped half of this walker's body into the ground.

But as more and more walkers climbed onto the roof of the car, a flash of humanized impatience appeared on the husky's face.

Only to see it open its mouth towards the swarming corpses, and in the next second, a hot flame spewed out from its mouth.

The dozens of zombies that were close by were directly burned to ashes.

And the surrounding zombies were stained with flames, slowly being incinerated by them.

In just a few moments, a large circle of open space was cleared around the bus.

In the room, in front of the window.

Wang Jun's eyes widened violently at the sight of the husky breathing fire.

This is the ...... divine beast species!

In his previous life, he had once heard that there were foreign beasts that were able to lift up clouds and turn into mist, grasping powers that only existed in myths.

And at this point the Fae can no longer be called Fae, but Divine Beasts.

Moreover, not only Fae, but humans, zombies also have the probability of having this ability.

Only the probability of controlling this kind of heaven and earth power was extremely low.

It takes one in tens of thousands to emerge!

And this kind of person, who was honored as a Godwalker, had a status that was not comparable to that of an evolved person.

    If it's a zombie, it's a necromancer.

In the previous life, the corpse devil this two words just mention let the human heart chills, night can stop the child crying.

I really didn't expect the divine beast species to be a husky.

Wang Jun was a little emotional, the one in ten thousand probability of a divine beast species was actually stumbled upon by him, and the other party was still a fire-breathing husky.

The flames were still burning, and by now the area around the bus had become a sea of fire.

The charred corpses were so dense that they covered the ground.

There was a sickening odor in the air.

Looks like this hunt is going to be a flop.

Wang Jun shook his head and was about to leave.

Among the same class, Godwalkers could easily crush Evolutionaries, and the same was true for Divine Beast species.

These existences that controlled the power of heaven and earth were not something he could put his finger on.

The only way to kill this husky was to evolve to the second rank yourself.

Warm reminder to the host, your alienation ability can devour your enemy's gene fragments with the probability of gaining the other party's ability.

Just the moment he turned around, a system prompt suddenly appeared in his head.

Wang Jun's footsteps froze with it.

Are you saying that if I kill that Divine Beast Species, I can gain its powers?

That's right, but it's only a probability to get it, everything is subject to the host's idea, the system is just a warm reminder.

Hearing these words, Wang Jun's eyes flashed with a trace of dissimilarity.

    What are the odds?

    Wang Jun's heart was moved.

    Eighty percent!

    The system gives its answer.

    Enough.

Wang Jun took a deep breath and returned to the window, observing the husky.

Once again, you can only devour one ability per level up.

Wang Jun ignored the system's prompts and looked hotly at the Husky that was making a big splash in the distance.

He's going to put up a fight!

    ......

    In a supermarket.

There were dozens of people who were carefully gathering supplies.

Zhang Ling frowned as he looked at the empty supermarket.

Brother Howe, how come there's not a single zombie to be seen in the supermarket? This is too strange.

Hearing Zhang Ling's words, Li Shuhao immediately glared at him.

    Shh!

Less talk, more work! Isn't it great that there are no walkers? Do you still want walkers to come over and give you a full body spa?

Zhang Ling smiled sarcastically at his words and stopped speaking out, silently collecting the scattered food along with the others.

Alright, we're quite lucky this time, we've harvested a lot, when we go back the boss might even reward us with some more food.

A smile appeared on Lee's face as he looked at the food stuffed in his backpack.

Howie, do we really have to go back? I think we might as well take this opportunity ......

What if I don't go back, I, for one, would rather be a dog than be bitten by a walker.

Li Shuhao glanced at Zhang Ling and spoke faintly.

But the boss is obviously using us! If he can use us, he can use others, and you can guarantee that one day the Boss will not get you killed if he is not happy?

Upon hearing Zhang Ling's words, Li Shuhao's back suddenly turned a little cold when he thought about it carefully.

    His face was hesitant.

Seeing this, Zhang Ling said again.

Look, there are no zombies in the whole supermarket now, this means that God is favoring us, if we miss this opportunity, we'll regret it for the rest of our lives!

My uncle works over at the police station, there are guns there, we ......

Before the words were finished, Li Shuhao's originally hesitant expression immediately became firm.

    Yes!

    Shh...

Zhang Ling was startled and hurriedly covered his mouth.

He pointed to the others and said, It's crowded, don't let them hear.

With that, the two of them ran around the others and towards the outside of the supermarket.

Along the way, they hadn't encountered a single zombie, which made them believe even more that God was blessing them.

It was only when he ran all the way outside the supermarket that Li Shuhao caught his breath a little.

He pulled Zhang Ling's shirt and said, Where is the police station where your uncle is? Which way do we go next?

    Howe ......

    What's wrong?

Li Shuhao looked up in surprise.

Only Zhang Ling looked in one direction with a horrified face, his legs and stomach shivering.

Curious, Li Shuhao followed Zhang Ling's gaze.

With just one glance, his mouth was open enough to fit an ostrich egg.

    What did he see!

    A husky that breathes fire!?

Chapter 8 - Another First Order Evolutionary Zombie

    Pop!

    Lee slapped himself hard.

The fiery pain in his cheek reminded him that he wasn't dreaming, he really had seen a fire-breathing husky.

This world is getting weirder and weirder ......

A three-meter-tall Erha, and it fucking breathes fire!

Zhang Ling stared dazedly into the distance, muttering under his breath.

    Don't fucking freeze! Run!

Li Shuhao was the first to come to his senses.

Looking at the steady stream of zombies running towards the husky he instantly understood.

Turns out it wasn't God who favored them.

The walkers in the supermarket were just attracted to that husky.

And at that moment, a walker had already noticed the two and was about to run towards them.

The two couldn't think of anything else and quickly fled the place.

    ......

In the room, Wang Jun frowned when he saw the two people running down the street.

    There are two survivors?

Gazing in the direction the two had come from, he saw seven or eight figures looming in a supermarket.

No, there's someone else in the supermarket ......

Watching this scene Wang Jun pondered.

    Ow!

    A long whistle sounded again.

Wang Jun couldn't care less about the others and looked back in the direction where the husky was.

Right now this Divine Beast Seed was more important than anything else.

Only after a long whistle, the husky once again spat out a fiery flame, burning dozens of zombies along the way.

By now the vicinity of the bus had become an incinerator.

Half of the originally converging corpses were already dead, and there wasn't even a scratch on the husky's body.

The power of the Divine Beast species was on full display at this moment.

    Ho ho ho.

Even so, the corpses continued to run towards the huskies without a second thought.

The zombies were tireless and unafraid of life and death, and the only thing in their eyes was the desire for flesh and blood.

Seeing this scene, a bit of impatience showed in the husky's eyes.

These zombies did not pose any threat to him, but there were just too many of them, making him tired of it.

As a flame erupted again, a thick black smoke came out of the husky's mouth.

It jumped off the top of the bus and sped off in the opposite direction, trampling several walkers along the way.

And Wang Jun's eyes snapped open when he saw the black smoke from the husky's mouth.

The next second, he tumbled right out the window.

    The time has come!

The abilities of the Divine Beast species are not inexhaustible, and there will be a window of time after the energy in their bodies is exhausted.

And at this point, the Divine Beast Species was no different than an ordinary Fae Beast.

Wang Jun was waiting for this moment.

The moment he landed, the hard ground under his feet instantly cracked with gaps.

With his current strength, he could fall from a height of ten meters without getting hurt.

Holding the steel pipe in his hand, Wang Jun ran towards the direction where the husky had left at an extremely fast speed.

The zombies that dared to stand in front of him were directly knocked out by him.

The Husky that was in the middle of running joyfully in the street seemed to sense something and suddenly twisted his head to look behind him.

And what greeted it was a blow to the head.

The steel pipe whistled against the wind and slammed into the bridge of its nose.

The old man said, hit the dog in the nose first.

The nose is one of the weakest areas of canine defense.

Wang Jun's power of this stick was unreserved, and all the power of a first-order evolved zombie was declared.

The tremendous force caused the steel pipe in his hand to instantly bend and scrap.

And the husky got a straight up broken nose.

    Ow!

The husky instantly howled in agony.

The original prowess of a dog facing an entire tide of corpses was gone.

Once it got a good look at its attacker, the husky's originally blue eyes turned bloodshot.

It was going to make the tiny bug in front of it pay!

The husky opened his mouth, and bits of sparks coalesced in his mouth.

And when Wang Jun saw this scene, a sense of crisis instantly spread throughout his body.

He didn't even want to directly storm back tens of meters without even thinking about it.

And when he looked up again, he saw that the husky was running towards the distance with great speed.

What a dog, and he can bluff!

Wang Jun was directly exasperated and laughed.

But it just goes to show that at this point, huskies are no longer able to spit flames out of their mouths.

The other side is also scaring themselves.

    Wang Jun quickly caught up.

As a divine beast species, a husky's intelligence wasn't like that of an ordinary fae beast.

It sensed danger in Wang Jun.

If he fought that walker himself, he would probably get himself hurt.

That was why it was running for its life at the moment, trying to get away from Wang Jun.

A corpse and a dog are chasing each other through the city.

The husky's three-meter tall body knocked everything in its way along the way right off.

A walker saw the husky's figure and just tried to run over to it before it was directly crushed into pulp by the dog's claws.

Two legs still can't catch up with four!

Looking at the husky that was getting farther and farther away from him, Wang Jun felt a little anxious in his heart.

At this rate, it is very likely that he will be a basket case and work for nothing.

If we do let this husky get away, it will be hard to find him next time.

Just as Wang Jun was anxious, a strange change occurred.

A dark shadow suddenly swept past Wang Jun.

And it was running at breakneck speed in the direction of the huskies.

    Is that a ...... walker!?

As he ran, Wang Jun fixed his eyes on the opponent, who was actually a thin zombie.

The opponent's speed was far superior to his own, even one point faster than the speed of a running husky!

A first-order evolved zombie, still on the speedy side!

A flash of surprise flashed through Wang Jun's heart.

He remembered that the earliest batch of first-order evolved zombies in his previous life had been discovered only a week after the outbreak of the end times.

And now it's only the fourth day that an evolved zombie has appeared.

Could it be that the timeline of the past has been skewed because of my rebirth?

Although he was a bit surprised, his speed still didn't slow down in the slightest.

And at that moment that first-order speed evolved zombie had taken the lead in catching up with the husky.

She leapt onto the husky's back in one step, her ten sharp nails clawing right into the flesh and blood of the husky's back, anchoring herself firmly to it.

The husky took the pain and slowed steeply.

Wang Jun seized the opportunity and immediately sped up to catch up.

The walker's hands tore into the husky's flesh with great force, sharp nails scratching out trails of blood.

The husky instantly howled in agony.

It seized the opportunity and flung the walker directly on top of it.

And at the same time, Wang Jun arrived.

Seeing this scene, he directly slammed his fist into the husky's abdomen without saying a word.

    Take advantage of your illness!

A tremendous amount of force crashed out, and the husky's tall frame stumbled and nearly fell to the ground.

It looked back at Wang Jun, and the evolved zombie that had attacked it, its red eyes filled with anger.

At this time it looked quite miserable.

There was an indentation in his nose, and blood snapped and poured out of it.

The original shiny fur was covered with streaks of blood.

How many times had it suffered this kind of humiliation as a divine beast species.

It wasn't going to run, it was going to tear these two tiny reptiles in front of it to shreds and burn them to ashes!

Chapter 9: Capturing and Killing Divine Beast Species, New Alienation Ability

In the next second, the husky's mouth snapped open.

Points of sparks coalesced in its mouth, as if it was about to burst into flames, splendid to the extreme.

When Wang Jun saw this scene, he sneered in his heart.

A beast is a beast, and he wants to do the same trick again.

Whoever hides this time will be a grandson!

Wang Jun clenched his fists and wanted to rush up.

Someone was a step ahead of him, though.

A dark shadow suddenly attacked the husky from the side.

The other evolved walker slammed into the husky with great speed.

    The husky's tall frame stumbled.

The mouth that was originally aimed at Wang Jun was also shifted to the direction of the evolved zombie.

In the next second, a stream of fiery flames erupted from the husky's mouth.

Seeing this scene, Wang Jun's eyes widened in anger and he instantly stormed back several meters away from the flames.

Even so, the clothes on his chest were instantly burned away by the high temperature, and the skin and flesh at his chest had been melted, revealing the scarlet muscles inside.

Even if he couldn't feel the pain, Wang Jun felt a bit of fear at this time.

If that flame burned itself head-on, I'm afraid that I would be crippled if not dead.

As the flames dissipated, black smoke filled the husky's mouth.

    The air smelled burnt.

Only to see that the evolved zombie that had been burned head-on had turned into a black, charred corpse.

A first-order evolved zombie facing a divine beast species directly died violently on the spot.

    Didn't even make a wave.

Wang Jun looked at the husky and already had a retreat in his heart.

Being greedy often comes with a price.

It wasn't worth it to risk your own life just to gain access to the other side's abilities!

But things are often not what they seem.

The husky that had fallen into a berserk rage was still not satisfied with killing that evolved zombie.

It turned to look at Wang Jun, its scarlet eyes filled with rage.

Points of sparks converged in its mouth, and a blazing heat poured out.

Wang Jun was riding a tiger at this point.

Eyes unblinking, he stared at the husky, his muscles tensed to the point of exhaustion.

And just as the flame was about to coalesce successfully, it suddenly turned into a black smoke that escaped into the air.

That flame just now had used up the last bit of energy that the husky had just recovered.

And the husky, already in a berserk rage, didn't notice this.

Seeing that its flames did not coalesce successfully, it tried again.

How could Wang Jun it give this opportunity.

Seeing that the Husky had no way to gather flames, he charged straight up and kicked it in the jaw.

    There was a click.

The husky's originally open, flame-condensing mouth closed instantly.

The upper and lower jaws clashed with a crisp clang.

Shaking his head, by the time the Husky came back to his senses, Wang Jun had already taken a step and jumped onto its back.
