      In the heart of London, amid the bustling streets and lively taverns, there lived a woman named Dorothy Tearsheet, known to most as Doll. She was a prostitute by trade, quick-witted and sharp-tongued, with a reputation for her colorful insults and fiery temper. But beneath her rough exterior lay a secret few knew: Doll possessed a magical gift that blessed and cursed her.

      It all began one evening when Doll was in a brawl with a nasty customer. In the heat of the moment, she struck him across the face, drawing blood. Doll felt a sudden warmth on her cheek as the man reeled back in pain. Touching her face, she realized she was crying, but these were no ordinary tears.
