Disclaimer:
In regards to dates listed, please keep in mind America replaced the Gregorian Calendar to the Julian Calendar, changing the formula for calculating leap years. The beginning of the legal new year was moved from March 25 to January 2. Finally 11 days were dropped from the month of September 1752.
Also, I cited Wikipedia for most of my amazing facts. The purpose for using the website was merely for easy access to a web page so readers can continue their research on each topic. Please note, all landmass measurement (ie mountain ranges, waterfalls, and other natural formations) are an estimation. Each land mass measurement are subject to change, depending on the location of the surveyor, causing each survey to be off a foot or two.
