I’ve conquered a lot of things… blood clots in my lungs—twice… knee and foot surgeries… winning Grand Slams being down match point… to name just a few, but I found out by far the hardest is figuring out a stroller! –Serena Williams
"Oh, Mom, that’s so not funny!" My 13-year-old daughter said as she rolled her eyes, a semblance of a smile at the corners of her mouth. I had just cracked a rather nifty joke, if I may say so myself, about her gang of friends, who I was driving to the mall. They were always hanging out at the place on a Saturday morning.
Judging by the embarrassed looks and the no-eye-contact stance from the gang, I knew the joke was considered lame
in teenage terms. I chuckled to myself; I loved those dramatic reactions, the embarrassed looks, and the slight smiles and giggles I got out of my jokes from my kids, partner, family, and friends. After all, what’s a mom got if not her great sense of humor: a
