Chapter 1
First things first
My name is J.D. Alexander. At the time of writing, I am 58 years old and currently hold a middle management position in a home service business company. Throughout my life, I have gained a wealth of experiences working for various companies and, importantly, running my own businesses. Every business I owned, I started from scratch, often with little to no money, and I made them successful, in my eyes. They did what they had to do at the time. These ventures usually sprang up in times of great need, driven by necessity and the desire to provide for my family. I want to make it very clear that I am NOT a multi-millionaire. I’m not destitute either. I have learned to save money, albeit late in life. I will be able to retire in a few years and not want for much of anything if I watch what I spend.
I am a father of four, and most of my businesses began during the time I lived in Denver, when my children were young, and I did not have a regular job.
