I dedicate this book to all my Christian brothers and sisters, who encouraged and prayed for me; my parents for teaching me good Christian values and praying for me; and my beloved wife, Marsha, for encouraging, proofreading, correcting my terrible spelling, and discussing early drafts.

Saving the best for last, I dedicate it to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit's influence that inspired me to write these poems and copy the holy scriptures from the King James Bible.

    About the Author

I dedicate this book to all my Christian brothers and sisters, who encouraged and prayed for me; my parents for teaching me good Christian values and praying for me; and my beloved wife, Marsha, for encouraging, proofreading, correcting my terrible spelling, and discussing early drafts.

Saving the best for last, I dedicate it to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit's influence that inspired me to write these poems and copy the holy scriptures from the King James Bible.

    Acknowledgments

I, being the author, gratefully acknowledge those whose lives and support have been integral to the writing of these poems. The writings contained within this book are all original works of Joe Wesson. The poems are original and not copied from any other source. They are straight from my heart.

Anyone who gets to know me will identify with my style of writing. No proper form is followed. There is no particular pattern to my style. I write down what I feel and get straight to the point. All the scripture was copied from the King James Bible. They have not changed in any way. So if you have a problem with anything you read, do not blame me. I'm just the messenger.

    Introduction

I, Joe Wesson, a child of Jesus Christ, believe that if God says it, I believe it. That settles it. And I'm hoping the following scriptures will convince you:

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said the Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. (2 Samuel 23:1–2)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:20–21)

My objective with this book is to bring hope, comfort, inspiration, and most of all, to bring others to Jesus Christ.

My prayer is that whosoever reads this book will be encouraged to find Jesus and a smile—because Jesus loves you, and I'm trying.

    How to Come to Jesus

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7–8)

That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. (John 3:15–18)

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the comforter which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:25–27)

    Jesus

Let me tell you about Jesus.

He is in the forgiving business.

With Him, life is much easier.

Jesus is God's only son. There is no other one.

Jesus forgave me of my sins, so on Him I will depend.

I'm sure glad I let Him in. With Jesus, you always win.

Jesus blesses me every day. That makes me rich in every way.

One touch from Jesus, and all my sins were forgiven.

Jesus gave everything and He died in such pain, so Heaven I would gain.

Please let Jesus in your heart before you depart.

On Jesus I will rely, so I'll see Him when I die.

Jesus said I will come back again. On that you can depend.

Jesus died for you and I. One day, he's coming out of the sky.

It blesses me every day knowing Jesus is on the way.

Where will you be on that day when Jesus comes to take us away?

So don't delay—pray to Jesus today before you are called away.

    Sixty

    To Pastor Franklin

Happy birthday, Preacher. I heard you reached sixty.

I have been told with age comes wisdom.

I know we've been blessed by your teaching.

    Try to be happy.
