On Hitting & Missing - James Dobbs

    Empty

If my memories are all gone,

    From my memory bank,

And I then sit all alone,

Will your face draw a blank?

    If memories pass me by,

When I try so hard to recall,

    Will our history then die,

Like it hadn’t happened at all?

If I just sit silently and stare,

    When you come around,

Will you know that I care,

    Even if I can’t make a sound?

Will our love still live on,

    If the memories are gone?

    September Joy

    As September comes 'round,

Just like it does every year,

I hear the rain make its sound,

And know that autumn is near.

    The promise of cooler days,

Is something I look forward to,

And if awhile summer yet stays,

I know it will soon be through.

i feel less of the sun's heat,

As the earth tilts further away,

While daylight gives up in defeat,

    To darkness earlier each day.

Though I realize not all will agree,

September always brings joy to me.

    Resting Place

Shiloh is the final resting place,

For many of my close family,

Who now by God's amazing grace,

    Live with Him for eternity.

So deep down in my heart,

    Where important memories abide,

Shiloh is always a central part,

No matter where I may reside.
