    Hello Diary,

It’s Trapper writing. I’m sure you remember since you’re a diary and you remember everything we wrote in you, but our faithful Master Hunter, Hunter, is lost.

Hunter found out that I was reading this diary. And since I’m Hunter’s pet ocelot, it made Hunter mad for some reason. I think Hunter was surprised that I’m a jungle cat, who can read and write, was invading his privacy and making fun of him behind his back. Granted, it wasn’t really behind his back, it was to his face.

    Look, Hunter, I’m sorry!

I shouldn’t have read your, Diary! And you’re a really important friend to me! I don’t want to lose you. So my plan is, that I’ll go wherever I have to go to find you, show you this message, and give you your diary back, with the added promise that I will NEVER read it again without your permission!

    OK?

Today, I ran around the desert, the hot sun beating down on my back. I checked a cactus grove, a big sand temple, and even a huge pit, but nothing. I didn’t find you. Some Husks were wandering around, being creepy and whatnot, and I’m sure you would have loved hunting them. I didn’t even bother… sigh.

    Here’s to hoping I find you tomorrow…

I paddled past some squids, but otherwise, the flat ocean was nothing but a wide expanse of blue nothingness all day. It could have been very calming if I was with my best friend…but since I was looking for him I just felt anxious.

I passed the time by remembering the first day we met, Hunter and I. I was just an angry jungle kitten. A different hunt/er slayed my mom and siblings for their pelts. Truly horrible. I was thrown into despair because of this. I still haven’t fully recovered and I probably never will.

Anyway, I tried to sabotage any hunter I found in the jungle. Hunter was camping alone one night,
