In loving memory of my parents. Lye Wolf, who taught me the meaning of work ethic to work hard and to give an honest day of work for an honest pay. That integrity is above all else that no man can take or steal your integrity or one's self-respect.
My mother, Lara Wolf, was the glue that held this little family of five together. She along with Dad taught us by living a life of hard work, integrity, and self-respect. She always showered us with love and kindness and led by example.
I cannot write this book without giving thanks to the people who walked along with me on my life's journey.
For my dad, Lye Wolf, which means smoke,
and my mom, Lara Wolf, which means lady of the water.
My parents were hardworking and built multiple businesses; however, we were given Americanized names. They worked fourteen hours a day, seven days a week and taught us many aspects of business and life.

For my brother, Winyan Nupa (Sioux), meaning two-faced.
Two-faced is a malevolent humanoid monster of the Plains Indian tribes (American name: River) who taught me the most hurtful lesson on my journey. He would preach the Spirit God and expected everyone else to follow his preaching, yet he never followed what he preached. My parents knew at his birth that he was a two-faced wolf. He preached one and all that of the Spirit God, yet he never followed what he preached. He lived by his own set of rules. Never did he follow the Great Spirit of Mother Earth. He was lazy and looked for ways for other people to support him. He was able to convince many people to give him money to go tell people about the wonderful Great Spirit who created the wonderful world. He is not to be trusted.
For my sister Sitala (Zuni name meaning bird
), embodying the freedom of spirit. She is an independent wolf who neither wanted nor needed anyone in her life. She followed her own spirit. Her American name was Sara. Growing up, she was ashamed of our humble beginnings and worked to better station in life. Sara worked hard at the correct pronunciation of words and always used correct grammar and never any slang. Attending to finishing school, college yet forgetting that my parents paid for all that.
For Helen, who traveled with me for fifty-four years through the rough and good parts of my journey, she held me when my first husband died and held me through my divorce of my second husband. Helen traveled with me, sharing spirit journeys and looking for the meaning of life, truth, and our own personal journey of the Great Spirit of the world.
For my husband, Rusty, who understood my eccentricities and my native beliefs and still loves me. He taught me that acceptance comes from being okay within oneself. He has taught me what being in love with him and what love means by just loving him. He gives me strength when I am down and takes care of me when I need help. He is truly my soulmate. It is uncanny that we see the same things in life the same way.
For all the people I counseled with and guided along their journey. There were many who lost their way along in life and seek help to guide them back on a constructive journey. From a young couple who were starting out on their life journey together,
