Gifts of the Magi: Gold Frankincense & Myrrh
By Erika Grey
()
About this ebook
The Magi also called the Wise Men offered their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the young Jesus. Recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, this is one of the most misunderstood passages in the Bible. Not one theologian or teacher through the ages has discovered the true Biblical meaning, until now. Within these pages you will learn the hidden message of their gifts. You will also be astounded by the Magi's profound knowledge of Scripture. Their gifts go to the depths of the Mosaic law. Moreover Nicodemus, the chief ruler of the Jews at the time of Christ, and a Pharisee, knew the meaning. His participation in the burial of Jesus was no coincidence, as only one who knew the Scriptures completely could perform the preparation of the Sacrificial Lamb of God. You will not want to miss the discoveries in this book, and you will be greatly blessed by all the details presented that theologians have missed through the ages.

1 THE MAGI’S GIFTS
Why did the three kings bring frankincense, myrrh, and gold to the young Jesus? This question has been asked through the ages. Theologians and Bible scholars have answered that all three generally represent the Lord Jesus Christ, from His being a king represented by both gold and frankincense, which also depicts his priesthood and myrrh signifying his death on the cross. These explanations do not even skim the surface of the extraordinary reason the Magi brought the gifts, which you will learn reading this book.
In addition, many have erroneously concluded that myrrh was a spice used for embalming in Jewish burials. The myrrh they say signified Jesus’s death. On the contrary, no spices were used in Jewish burials. The deceased were buried very quickly. In the account of King Asa, the fifth King of Judah who reigned 41 years, he was laid on a bed of spices and mixtures of ointments and had a great fire or burning in his honor. This use of herbs was unusual, but Asa obviously had a funeral fit for a king. Never-the-less there is no mention of myrrh.
In this book I am going to reveal to you the secret of the Magi and the hidden message in their gifts. You will learn why they brought gold, frankincense and myrrh to the young Jesus and its true scriptural significance. Moreover, you will also read about Nicodemus and his monumental role. In addition to his understanding of the meaning of the gifts.
First, why am I talking about the Magi as an eschatologist? Because my own analysis and approach to Bible Prophecy news and analysis is modeled on the Magi. Therefore, I have a special interest in them. In addition to how they came to the exact location of the young Christ and why they brought the gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Thus, I embarked on my own research, which findings are now in this discourse.
Book of Daniel, Aramaic Word for Wise
The Aramaic word for wise
used in the book of Daniel, derives from the Chaldean (Babylonian) language, and means specially a magian or magician. When we get to the New Testament, the Greek word used for wise
also derives from the Chaldean (Babylonian) word magus.
This was the name given by the Babylonians, Medes, Persians, and others to the wise men of their day. These included educated men and women such as teachers, advisers, consultants, astrologers, doctors, and scientists.
The Babylonians esteemed prophets, seers, soothsayers, sorcerers, and interpreters of dreams within the same ranks as the intelligentsia. The prophet Daniel was a Biblical wise man and he also possessed the ability to interpret dreams and visions (Dan. 1:4, 17, 5:11-12).
Daniel held chief posts within two of the four world empires that existed. He
