Slipstreaming the Light - Steve Kelly
Of Fire and Light
The love song of eternity
Sings the planets home
From fruitless meanderings
From keeping their distance
Respectable
Orbit chained
Down the long dark round of stellar years
Gravity smashed
Passion empowered
Spiraling inward
Towards the source
Drawn on
They come
Finally succumb
To solar flares
Atomic fusion
Ecstasy blinding sight
And drab moths on wings of cosmic dust
Seeing death
Revealed as life made glorious
They beat and ignite
In the cleansing flames
Brilliant super nova
Falling into light
Dust Upon the Moon
Sunlight dances
On the moonscape
Of my memory
Creates
Deep craters
Of shadow
Lights the ridge tops
Like wave crests
Falling shoreward
Coming home
I have never drifted
That far out
On the sea
Tranquility or otherwise
Not to see
The place to return to
The centre
That calls me
And in dreams I have touched
The essence of love
And kicked up the dust
In joy upon the moon
Melodies of Light
We bring what we are
We are what we bring
Can we alter remembering?
Forget the dark and silent past
The shards of shattered heart
And see in the crystal glass
The spark of a lullaby
Set yourself at the beginning
When you knew light
When there was no light
When you sang
When there was no singing
In the heart of the one who loves you
And know for certain
The gentle wind is bringing
