How to End the War Within Us: The Story of Bella
()
About this ebook
Everybody had the experience of wanting something very badly, yet never getting it. Most of us put up with this ascribing it to the fact that life is not fair. That's how things look on the surface. If we go deeper though, we may find it's ourselves that prevent us from having the thing we want. The Story of Bella tells about the different parts we have living inside us, often pulling us in different directions, keeping us stuck and making us unable to get the things we want in life.
We are not even aware of this while the personalities existing within us go after their own agendas, often conflicting with one another. If we remain blind to this, we risk living in a never-ending war, wasting our potential to build the life we truly want.
Once armed with this understanding though, we are able to go on a crusade to bring them together and invite them to work together towards the life we desire.
The fairy tale of Bella shows there is a way out of the internal struggles and a life of joy is there waiting for the ones ready to meet themselves.

How to End the War Within Us - Velichka Sarafova
Bella in January, the tower lady
Be careful how you are talking to yourself because you are listening.
Lisa Hayes
IT’S AN OLD CASTLE hidden amidst thick woods. Dim light coming out of the window in the tower is hardly noticeable at this time of the day, the mystical transition to night when daylight is still ghostly present. This is the home of an austere woman who rarely leaves it to take a walk in the woods. She is always busy with her work and hardly has time for anything else. Except for a walk in the woods and a little nap in the late afternoon...As she spends most of her time in the tower, we will call her the tower lady.
Now she is sitting there in her armchair next to the big fireplace, starting to doze off. The fire is slowly dying out. She is falling deeper and deeper into her sleep. There comes again this vivid dream of Bella looking so excited and energetic, walking around joyfully and vigorously, setting goal after goal. As she roams around her apartment she can’t stop mumbling about all the happiness that is going to pour over her during the coming year. The tower lady can clearly hear Bella’s monologue.
"It’s planning time. This year things will be different, each action I take will be oriented towards the goals I am setting. No excuses, no procrastination, no letting be discouraged, nothing like that...By the end of the year, I need to have two things in place – one project completed in a leading position, I am fed up with being the runner-up. It’s insulting to end up in this position to people whom I would call mediocre in their work. I must admit that despite being mediocre they know how to play their cards very skillfully before the management. I need to learn to play that game. I don’t know how this will happen, I just hate it. But I need to win a project if I want to have my own business one day. For now I will just concentrate on the goal, I will figure out the details on the way.
Then goal number two – finding the one. I don’t know how this will be accomplished but I need to do it. I don’t have time any more, I risk remaining single for eternity. I will do whatever it takes to find my soulmate..."
The tower lady is taken out of her dream as the fire has almost died out and the room has become cold and dark. She gets up and angrily throws some wood into the fire.
The same thing each year... The same big talk and goals... But every time it is different...It’s getting ridiculous. I need to prepare my speech. It should be a convincing one. Bella should stop with all this nonsense.
The tower lady spends the next few hours sitting at her desk writing line after line, throwing some sheets in the fire along with the wood, then writing again...
Sometime around midnight she is ready, takes the sheets and heads contentedly to the bedroom. While reading them in the bed she quietly falls asleep letting them scatter around. One of them reads: "Bella, I want you to answer this question. How are you going to become the best landscape designer with so much competition? You lack the connections, the attitude and to be honest you don’t have any special ability to be distinguished by. How is that ever going
