WELCOME MESSAGE
Hello friend! It’s so lovely to meet you. Welcome to Summer Beach, my fictional village on the sunny coast of Southern California. This is a friendly community, especially if you’re starting over—as Ivy Bay and Marina Moore discover in Seabreeze Inn and Coral Cottage.
You’re sure to meet folks you’ll soon think of as friends. Read on and find out why readers say, Life is better in Summer Beach.
I’ve included the first chapters of Seabreeze Inn and Coral Cottage so you can start reading now. Simply tap on the links above or find them in the table of contents.
Friends & Family Trees
Meeting so many new people at once can be daunting, so I’ve created three family trees. You’ll meet the fun-loving Bay family in Summer Beach, the close-knit Moore-Delavie family at the Coral Cottage, and the creative Raines family on nearby Crown Island. If you forget who’s who, refer to these family trees.
More Goodies
What’s a welcome kit without a few treats? Here’s what’s inside:
• Family Trees – Who’s who in town
• Summer Beach Map - Discover the village
• VIP Shopping Coupon – Take 10% off in my online shop
• Printable Book List – A checklist with ISBN codes
• Printable Bookmarks – A fun DIY project
• Recipes – Cool summer refreshments
• Book Summaries – Learn more about each book and where to find them
Reading Order
While you can start at the beginning of any of my series, you might enjoy reading Seabreeze Inn first. This beloved book kicked off the world of Summer Beach.
In Seabreeze Inn, you’ll meet sisters Ivy and Shelly Bay and a fun cast of characters as they transform an old beach house. In Coral Cottage, you’ll follow Marina Moore and Jack Ventana in a truly heartwarming series.
You’ll soon meet everyone in Summer Beach. And while each series can stand on its own, it’s fun when you spot characters from another series (readers call these Easter eggs). Java Beach is gossip central in Summer Beach, so imagine stopping by for one of Mitch’s special coffees or a refreshing cooler to hear all the news.
My latest beach series is Crown Island. While you can read this on its own, starting with Beach View Lane, if you read Seabreeze Reunion before it, you’ll discover how this tiny island is tied to Summer Beach. But don’t worry, you’ll figure it all out. Folks in Summer Beach and Crown Island are friendly, and they’re happy to show you around.

MEET THE CHARACTERS
You’ll meet plenty of interesting people in Summer Beach. Here are some of the main characters you’ll soon come to know.
Ivy Bay Marin - At 45, Ivy is a part-time art teacher and stay-at-home mother to two daughters, one in college and one a recent graduate. Since attending university in Boston, she lived in Boston's Back Bay area with her husband, Jeremy, originally from France. Ivy grew up near the beach in Southern California with two sisters and two brothers, and she misses her close-knit family.
Jeremy was a business consultant who traveled frequently. Recently, he died of an aneurysm while on a business trip. Ivy is devastated, and in settling his estate, she discovers serious issues about their finances of which she was unaware.
After slashing her expenditures, she still struggles with her daughter's private university tuition and must make some difficult decisions. With a practical approach to life, Ivy has always been dedicated to her family, but she is at a loss as to what to do now. She thought Jeremy had put aside plenty for retirement, but what he did with that money was beyond her…until her accountant traced it and discovered the shocking truth.
Shelly Bay - Ivy's younger sister is an artsy, high-spirited woman of 37. She has enjoyed living in New York for years. As a trained horticulturist, she makes her living by supplying floral arrangements for special events and creating videos for her social media lifestyle channel. She would like to make enough money to fulfill her dreams, but living in New York has been expensive.
Besides horticulture and gardening, Shelly loves yoga and dance. She looks up to Ivy, although she’s loved teasing her since they were kids. Her older twin brothers and their families live near Summer Beach, and her eldest sister lives in Sydney, Australia.
Shelly yearns for a family of her own, yet her longtime hipster boyfriend, Ezzra, has repeatedly delayed their marriage. She has loved her exciting life in New York, though she dreams of having a garden where she can grow flowers and fresh food for a family. If only she could bring Ezzra on board with that idea. She's ready to make a change, however painful that might be.
Bennett Dylan - Bennett grew up in Summer Beach, a small town on the coast in the farthest northern area of San Diego County (fictional). After he married, he and his wife were expecting their first child when she was diagnosed with a terminal
